Mid Season Team Reviews
alright so i daresay there would nearly be a representative for every club on this forum by now, so how about everyone gives an honest assessment of where there club is at. if any north guys on the forum want to add anything feel free
NORTH GEELONG
Review- after a big off season of trying to recruit players, the club found itself with only one big name recruit being captain Col Millard from geelong city. The year was looking as though it was going to be a long one before round one, when key bowler Brad Scown hadnt bowled a ball until he first played which had to be in the seconds due to lack of training. the team was always going to be in a rebuilding stage, as seen with Dom McGlinchey (15 years old) and Shaun Kingwell (16 years old) both in the plans for the year. After losses in the first four rounds to South Barwon, St Josephs, Grovedale and Geelong West, we finally picked up our first victory against Geelong City. However, we then lost the unlosable game against Lara, which was seemingly a nail in the coffin as even a victory last round against Newcomb left us three games out of the 6, whereas a victory would have left us one game out.
Shining Light- Col Millard has probably been the best all round wagpie this year to date, taking wickets and making runs on a regular basis. Juddy just needs to turn his thirtys into big scores as he has the ability to do
Lowlight- Losing the game to Lara and having Grovedale 7-80 and not capitalizing would be the biggest disapointments to date.
Hightlight- Sam Halls century last game, as well as Scownys opening spell against Newcomb.
Predicted Outcome- win more than 50 per cent of the games, hopefully all of them and hopefully still make the finals. we will probably just miss out.
