Money Shield 2017/18

Another farce in the Valley

Pissed up a perfectly good Sunday last week, to stoke the egos of a few. Not only potentially costing teams premierships, but in Heidelberg and Greensborough's case.... promotion.
I don’t think it will cost them that much, weather looking like Sunday will be the day for majority of play, however an extra day on the piss for them would be the real sad point haha

Not quite right... it was the clubs who voted for the current structure when decision was made to make all GF's 160 over games back from 240. Reckon slight change in year 2 of 160 over GF's as rule was chaged to reflect cumpulsory closure after 80 but the rule was not changed from the GF will be played over 3 days.

Like 90% of the decisions, united clubs on any particular issue have a lot more power than the executive to cause change. Communication is the key

It doesn't make sense that if Day 1 was washed out, play would commence on the Sunday (last week).

Most blokes would have set aside the whole weekend in case that scenario eventuated - so why not just play both days, with the following weekend fully set aside as reserve days.

Not even sure you could call that an oversight - perhaps just no foresight.

You won't get an argument from me, i tend t agree, just stating it was the clubs and not the executive who wanted Sat/Sat GF with the 1st reserve Sunday only to be used in event day 1 completely washed/heated out. Only way to change is for clubs to propose it and vote for it

Surely all 22 players and support staff already planned the Monday off, should ve on the gas for a week. Fkn hard to win no matter what grade you play

Whitcher or O'Connor Comp B & F. Probably O'Connor given his standout performances in Banyule's wins.

Will be very tight though as half a dozen had very solid years.

Pretty good, 10 out of 11. Not sure how Higgins goes in though in front of Murray.
