My bowling action.

Re: My bowling action.

No problem, it looks like you could do a little work on your action, at from that angle it does seem a little mixed.

The key thing is to keep the shoulders and hips in line, if they're twisted then thats when the pressure on the spine/back occurs.

Re: My bowling action.

That is something that you could work on but my priority would in making sure that your action is sound first. Once you have it so that the risk of injury is minimised, then you can look at ways in which to pick up speed.

Re: My bowling action.

Swing shouldn't be effected greatly as it's largely about the wrist position. Ideally get more side on (or at least the left hip more side on).

I think i have a mixed action can anyone help.

Unfortunately, it is extremely hard to analyse this type of video; it is not sharp enough and very difficult to freeze in the right places. However, you have a very strong side on action.

As mas says, to help even more, we would need to see a view direct from the back which includes your full run up.

At the moment you need to:

1. Concentrate on your non bowling arm.

Flex the elbow so the forearm is vertical and keep your hands within peripheral vision. Drive down, with the elbow leading.

Lower your left shoulder blade to relieve stress in your back.

The left arm should be taken 'straight' up behind you in the follow through.

At this angle, I cannot really see what the bowling arm is doing all the time.

2. Knee raises.

You should not be 'jumping' but you must raise your knees more; before bfc, ffc and after the hip drive.

3. Bowl tall!

You need to maximise your height more; always bowl tall :)

Post another video soon and we can progress from here.
