word out of jika house is that they are so short of umpires at this stage that the new admin will be voting in the next couple of weeks to go with only 1 umpire in JIKA SHIELD . im told that they are so concerned with the situation that they will have no choice other than to implement the change , yep the comp is flying !! on the positive side at least we will get consistency from both ends
 
If we go down the track of one umpire for A grade the comp is finished.
There is absolutely no way we could be in this position, if we are so short that we have only got 6 umpires that are capable of umpiring A grade, close the doors. If the board decide to stay with 2 umpires but they are not up to it don't even bother. What a disaster if this is true and correct.
 
Said this before, but there needs to be more incentive for people to take up umpiring. Every other job in the world gets payrises, but umpires always get paid the same do they not? Pay them more to do it. Then those switching comps may stay, and retiring players may take it up and then hopefully become good umpires. Before anyone bites me head off, it's only a suggestion and not sure if there's an alternative?
 
if the rumours are true, I woulda thought nimma and Gary eyre junior would've been bigger Pick ups than Corey and bonicci? Especially not hearing anything about them losing anyone either.

But city hall responds by sacking the former umpires manager.
He only increased the quantity of umpires, as well as improve the standard every year of his time in the job.
Maybe the clubs need to sack all members from last years board.

Maybe we need to audit the entire competition from top to bottom.
All board positions spilled and vote our board into positions in an open transparent manner.
We might be able to wash away the previous boards corruption and inability to govern by the rules

Pay them more - what? More expense on the Clubs? Set up a decent recruiting program and do some marketing like other Associations then they might get some Umpires. Umpire numbers are the responsibility of the Umpires Association with the Assistance of the Board!
 
Rivergum surely need to change it up this year. Mr bell to finally give the leadership to mr Perry for the new season. Mrbell had won the 3 in a row and should of gave it up after that one. Selfishness cost them the grand final. Time to swap it up
 
Our competition is a shambles!

Reserve grades have killed clubs, lack of trickle down funds to clubs making it hard for the battlers to improve and no umpires.

It's safe to say, it might be time to move on.
