Offical Practise Matches This Weekend

Re: Offical Practise Matches This Weekend

Haileybury 9/220ish (Williamson 114, Secull 29, Scanlon 5 fa) def. Haw-Mon Academy 9/170ish(Scanlon 90, Coleman 2 fa, Nainhabo 2 fa)

Decent game, with the great spread being the highlight. As well as Willo's ton.

Re: Offical Practise Matches This Weekend

Caufield 208 (O'Sullivan* 84, Cameron 2/34) defeated MGS 196 (Trotter 64, Hamer 30 odd, Jenkins 30 odd, Handel picked up a few)

Good standard game at Wheeler's Hill. Despite the pitch looking very green, played very true. Not that much in it for the bowlers, apart from some early swing, especially from the MGS bowlers. Caufield looking like a very a handy outfit for 08/09, good bowlers in Handel (found it hard not to laugh at his facial expressions when facing up to him, no disrepect to him) and Everitt, and also some decents bats.

MGS a bit understrength, but outplayed on the day, Bett and Morris still to come back for round 1 this week against Scotch.

*I think it was O'Sullivan who made 84, correct me if I'm wrong

Re: Offical Practise Matches This Weekend

Wesley 68 (Top Scorer Byes 10 McGorian 4/6 Donnellan 2/15) def. by Xavier 8/200ish (Goss 90 Ryan 60)
passed the score 3 down

Re: Offical Practise Matches This Weekend

scotch 117 (g.van den broek 34 muttdon 19* graham 3/25) absolutely smashed by geelong grammar 3/120 (ree goodings 40ish graham 30ish eldridge 2/20)

Scotch won the toss and elected to bat on a typical scotch road and were 6/37 after 20 overs after the top 6 combined for a total of 34, vanden broek batted well for his 30 odd but it was ultimately a disgraceful performance. Geelong passed the total with 7 wickets and 15 overs to in hand. Scotch will need to lift considerably if they stand any chance of beating melbourne next weekend

highlight in this match was muttdon's coming of age as a batsman with an elegant 19 not out. clearly he has developed into one of the comps most feared numbers 11 bats. look out bowlers this year!
