Only ODI: Ireland vs South Africa at Belfast

The second of these one-off games sees Ireland take on South Africa.

Unfortunately, we've seen no play yet as rain has hampered today's proceedings. Play was meant to start at 10:45am local time, it is now almost 2pm but still no cricket in the middle.

The rain had stopped for a while and things did fine up for a period of time but the rain is back once more and with dark clouds in the distance, play is a long way away yet.

Hopefully the rain will go away and we'll see some cricket within the next couple of hours.

Play did manage to get underway after such a long delay.

The game has been reduced to 31 overs a side. Ireland won the toss and decided to field first, a decision probably influenced by the rain that had been falling previously.

Van Wyk and de Villiers started strongly for the South Africans, contributing scores of 52 and 40 respectively. Jacques Kallis has continued their work and is not out on 41 with Justin Kemp not out on 1. Kemp has just replaced Herschelle Gibbs who fell for just 2.

Alex Cusack has 2/8 on debut.

South Africa are 3/148 in the 28th over.

South Africa finish on 4/173.

Cusack picked up Kallis not long after my previous post for 46. Justin Kemp made sure the Proteas reached a decent total, his little cameo finished on 18 not out. Cusack ended up with 3/15 on debut, not bad against a team like South Africa. Roger Whelan was the only other wicket-taker.

Big effort needed her by the Irish. Not an easy track to bat on so they'll need to give it their best shot here if they want to emerge victorious.

Ireland all out for 131 off 30.5 Overs

Vernon Philander taking the 2nd best bowling figures by a South African on debut (behind Allan Donald) with 4/12 off 5.5 Overs.

Alex Cusack of Ireland being named Man of the Match top scoring with 36 in the Irish Innings and taking 3/15 off 4 Overs.

South Africa win by 42 runs
