Only ODI: Scotland vs India at Glasgow

Scotland get another opportunity to take on one of the superpowers of today's cricket, their opponent being India on this occasion.

This will be one of India's few chances to get in some one-day practice before the upcoming series against England. They also play another match against the England Lions in a few days time.

India are expected to play their younger players against the modest Scottich line-up. Only three players from the third test against England are likely to play in this one-day game, they being Rahul Dravid, MS Dhoni and RP Singh. The rest will be the usual one-day suspects and some of the younger players.

Scotland will be hoping just to get onto the park.Their last foray into these one-off games was unsuccessful with rain ruining their game against the Pakistanis.

Let's see how those Scots are going and just how good the Indian youngsters are.

Scotland XI (likely): 1 Fraser Watts, 2 Navdeep Poonia, 3 Ryan Watson*, 4 Gavin Hamilton, 5 Collin Smith+, 6 Neil McCullum, 7 Craig Wright, 8 Majid Haq, 9 John Blain, 10 Dewald Nel, 11 Paul Hoffman.

Scotland finished on 9/203 from their 46 overs (46 overs maximum). Hamilton made 44 with McCallum making 41. Wright made a late surge with 37 at the end of the innings.

Agarkar, RP Singh, Patel and Chawla all took two wickets each.

In reply, India cruised to victory, achieving the target inside 40 overs. Gautam Gambhir was the mainstay of the innings with 85 not out. Robin Uthappa made 55. Yuvraj Singh smashed a brisk 38 at the end of the innings.

Haq, Wright and Blain all took one wicket apiece.

A good win to India although Scotland showed they are not a bunny side. After the Scots performance, their could be a few more of these matches in future years.

Gautam Gambhir was Man of the Match.
