Not spectacular but colorful.

I will never forget the CC in Sydney 2000 of which I was lucky to be part. 60,000 people singing I Am Australian, and waving glow sticks. Talk about shivers down the spine and an immense sense of pride..

As Australia's athletes bid au revoir to Paris, the country's most decorated Olympian Emma McKeon leads a swag of retirements.

The 30-year-old will hang up her goggles having collected 14 medals across three Games, including six gold - an Australian record - three silver and five bronze.

Joining our swimming queen are basketball great Lauren Jackson, ageless diver Melissa Wu, Joe Ingles, Patty Mills, Matthew Dellavedova from the Boomers, kayaker Alyce Wood, cyclist Mat Glatzer and Kookaburras veteran Eddie Ockenden. Others are expected to follow in the coming weeks.

With hindsight, what did you enjoy most watching? What was the most moving and interesting event?
For me it was seeing our Tillies win Bronze, Oliver Zeidler winning the single sculls race, decathlon in particular and TF-Athletics in general.

The swimming for me, the Cameron McEvoy (50m free) comeback specially, plus in athletics Nina Kennedy gold (Pole Vault) and Jessica Hull silver (1500m). The girl who won the cycling BMX and her paying tribute to her big brother who was brain damaged in a crash at Tokyo.
