RIDDLES/BRAIN TEASERS 2

Off on a side track, here's a puzzle I've been observing casually and considering for some years.

Do some things last longer when used regularly than not?

I'm thinking appliances, locks, mind, body, ...,
maybe not sheets! 😄
My 40plus yo corded B&D drill still works flawlessly. 💪
I tried a battery drill. "Batteries bother" back then for an occasional user, and my old faithful B&D kept on going on!
I still use it ... despite long power cords.
With masonry bits I'll use it soon for another little project.

I digress but feel for many things, some do last longer when used frequently.

What do you my friends think? Any examples?

Sorry to befuddle so, I taught Senior Probability Maths with Calculus and Physics intertwined. My clockwork mind often considers the minutiae of the life spans of things. For example five of my 30yo clothes pegs still work fine from a big pack from way back. A bit like radioactive decaying exponential curves with half lives.

I don't like our throw away culture and prefer to maintain appliances and all sorts of things. I even darn socks.
Sadly I had to buy a new kettle recently as the old one was making strange noises.

What is the largest prime number less than a hundred ?
