Re: South Africa vs New Zealand

Yeah they lost by 85 runs. the advantage is with us. NZ havent even played a test this year. im interested to see how paul harris does.

Re: South Africa vs New Zealand

Fleming is fit to play so that will be a boost to the Kiwis.

How will Vettori cope with the pressure of test captaincy?

Also, does anyone else rate Taylor? I think he'll be no.1 NZ batsman of the next 10 years, he has so much potential.

Re: South Africa vs New Zealand

I have to say I'm surprised to see South Africa in the positon they are.

Bond had taken 4 wickets so far but Vettori has bowled 14 overs for only 12 runs, which may mean that the SA batsman have given him far too much respect.

Will be interesting to see if Paul Harris can extract anything out of the pitch.

Re: South Africa vs New Zealand

The pitch looked slightly dodgy from the start, I think it's only going to get worse and quickly.

South Africa wasted the chance to impose themselves on this game by racking up a big score, first up.

NZ bowled well but they need to get a first innings lead of around 100 or it may all go to waste.

Re: South Africa vs New Zealand

bad day for us. but i think we can bowl them out cheaply. fleming and taylor are the threats.

Re: South Africa vs New Zealand

What is going in this game? The pitch must be a shocker, NZ get blown away with only Fleming getting a reasonable score and now SA are struggling on 30-2.

If this was a CC game, the pitch inspectors
would be called in.

Re: South Africa vs New Zealand

kallis and amla are going strong. the kiwi batsmen were horrible we'll get them easily in the 2nd innings. cant see any outcome other than a win for us.

Re: South Africa vs New Zealand

Good comeback by SA, need to push for 300 odd in the 2nd innings then give themselves 2 days to get NZ out.

Kallis is looking good again, so is Amla, although I don't rate him that much.

Re: South Africa vs New Zealand

SA continue to build their lead and Kallis continues his fine run of form.

If the weather holds SA could bat all day before leaving themselves 6 sessions to bowl NZ out, however, I'd rather have a little go at them this evening, maybe 30 mins before the end?

Re: South Africa vs New Zealand

Will Kallis ecer score a test double century? Out 14 short, I thought he was going to get there today.

Amla is batting well, 2nd test hundred and a big one as well.

Re: South Africa vs New Zealand

Damn, Shane Bond is injured again - or so it looks like it when he ambled off the field and has not come back. He is paying the common price of being an express fast bowler with the hectic international schedule.

The declaration has come and Amla misses out on the double. With a session and two days to go, South Africa can clench this one with ease. The joint attack of Ntini, Steyn, Nel and Kallis, all capable of over 140kph, bowling on a day 4 and 5 pitch will surely be too hot to handle for New Zealand...

Re: South Africa vs New Zealand

brilliant over by nel they are already 3 down can see us winning by more than 400 runs. this new zealand batting lineup is very fragile. our batting was really classy both amla and kallis showed the kiwis how it should be done. we have totally dominatated them after the first day  :D

you are right he is injured again

Shane Bond, the New Zealand fast bowler, will be flying back home after suffering an abdominal tear on the third day of the first Test against South Africa. Bond is expected to be out of action for at least four to six weeks, according to Lindsay Crocker, the team's cricket manager, thus ruling him out for the remainder of New Zealand's tour of South Africa.

it is big trouble for new zealand they will lose 2-0 i think. they dont have good quality batsmen or bowlers now.

Re: South Africa vs New Zealand

All over, as expected. Hardly any fight from NZ, who will need to pick themselves up if they are to have any chance in the 2nd test.

Losing Bond is a massive blow but then again he's the kind of player you learn not to rely on; too injury prone.

Re: South Africa vs New Zealand

embarassing defeat for the kiwis. we are going to crap all over them they are going to struggle to put up even a fight in this series.

Re: South Africa vs New Zealand

NZ got owned by SA in that match and i can see more of that happenign in the next match. their bits anf peices players dont work in tests. only fleming, bond and vettori are very talented and bond is hardly fit.

Re: South Africa vs New Zealand

i cant believe they arent playing pollock. hes a legend. who have they got better than pollock?
