Sri Lanka A Vs New Zealand A

Sri Lanka 'A' piled up 6 declared for 555 (Kaushal Silva 193, Kithuruwan Vithanage 116).

But New Zealand 'A' have shown some pluck with 391 in reply.

Interesting to see Luke Ronchi make 134 for his newly adopted country (though he was actually born there).

I had to facepalm at Kusal Perera making a golden duck in that total of 555. I'm afraid the man is painfully out of form.*

It was also a little worrying that the NZA bowlers were only able to claim a combined 10 wickets over the two innings. Aside for the first innings of the first game, the Sri Lankans have been able to comfortably pile up massive scores at over 4 an over.

*ah, just saw the second-innings 50.

It is a bit worrying that they couldn't manage anymore wickets than that but Sodhi is still very inexperienced at domestic level and Anton Devich is just a part-time tweaker in a country where spin is crucial. Nick Beard would probably (should) be over there if Otago wasn't in the Champions Trophy.

Nice to see Ronchi making some runs, wish he was still playing for the Warriors.
