Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

3/195, Sangakkara was out some time ago for 57 to Mehrab Hossain Jnr.

Mehela Jayawardene not out on 84, Samaraweera on 21. Lead is 310, tea break is about 20 minutes away.

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Sri Lanka 4/291 at stumps which gives them a lead of 406 runs.

Mahela Jayawardene and Samaraweera put on 138 runs before Mortaza got Samaraweera for 62 with the last balls of the day. Jayawardene is on 129 not out.

There will be no play tomorrow as it's a rest day due to elections.

Haha, I was looking on Cricinfo and wondering why it wasn't updating!

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Sri Lanka declared at 6/408. Mahela Jayawardene top scored with 169 runs. Dilshan was the other man out today for 47.

Bangladesh need 521 runs to win so it's just a case of how long for Sri Lanka.

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Sri Lanka have just declared at 6/408. Dilshan made 47 before falling to Shakib al Hasan and Mehela Jayawardene scored 169. Vaas finished not out on 15 and Prasanna Jayawardene scored 3 not out, Vaas actually scored his 3000th test run in this game.

Mashrafe Mortaza and Mehrab Hossain Jnr were the multiple wicket takers, taking two each. Mehrab was criminally underbowled in my opinion, getting only ten overs in the second innings.

So, Bangladesh need 521 runs to go one-up in the series. There's 67 overs left but the change of innings should see that go down to 64 plus 90 tomorrow leaves 154 overs remaining in the match.

Hopefully the Tigers can show a little with the willow this time around.

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

After a promising start Bangladesh lose their first wicket with the score of 40. Imrul Kayes was run out for 13.

Really disappointing to lose a wicket run out.

So at lunch on Day 4 Bangladesh are 1/40.

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Murali gets his first of the innings, Siddique is gone for 37.

Bangladesh are 3/124.

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Murali gets his third of the innings, Mehrab Hossain jnr is gone for 23.

Bangladesh 5/180.

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Bangladesh are crusining quite confotably atm but its oly a matter of time till one of these two (probably ashraful) get's impatient and plays a stupid shot and it will be all over =(

I really want them to win though.

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Bangladesh are 5/254 at stumps on Day 4.
Mohammad Ashraful 70*
Shakib Al Hasan 34*

These two have put on 74 runs so far.

Bangladesh require another 267 runs for victory on the 5th day.

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Will need to be a huge effort by this pair. They need to double their current scores for starters.

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Bangla needs just 148runs to win an historic world record match , all pray for Bangla to win this .

This year has been good for Test matches..

Better hope this pair keeps going mate. :)

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Mohammad Ashraful was dismissed when the score was on 292. He made 101 and put on 112 runs with Shakib. Then Shakib and Rahim put on 111 runs before Shakib was dismissed for 96, just four short of his maiden test match ton.

At that stage of the game the score was 7/403 needing another 118 runs to win.

Then unfortunately Bangladesh collapsed to be all out for 413. Rahim was the third man to past 50 for the innings ending up with 61.

That was a magnificent run chase from Bangladesh and if only they had batted like that in the first innings they would have had a chance at winning the Test.
