Stanford 20/20 from St. Johns, Antigua

Re: Stanford 20/20 from St. Johns, Antigua

St Kitts finished 130-8, thanks primarily to a big 55 from their captain Liburd.

This should be a good chase, hopefully we'll see the closest match of the tournament so far.

Re: Stanford 20/20 from St. Johns, Antigua

USVI 55-2 after 10 overs.

They need 76 runs from the final 10 overs.
This could be a close one.

Re: Stanford 20/20 from St. Johns, Antigua

An exciting win for USVI, they finished 131-6 with 4 balls remaining. Though they were pretty much in control ever since Hamish Anthony scored 21 runs in the 11th over.

Re: Stanford 20/20 from St. Johns, Antigua

Tonight's match is between St Maarten and St Vincent & the Grenadines.

St V batted first, and there was a massive partnership between James and Bobb. They added 118 runs from the final 9.4 overs! Lyndon James finished on 73 from 37 balls. He came close to hitting the $100,000 clock on a couple of occasions, missing by a few yards wide left both times. He had the height almost perfect though, as both times the ball landed almost even with the clock on top of the pavillion, just hitting the roof to the left of it.

St V finished 168-4 (James and Bobb came in at 50-4).

St V & the G's were the favorites coming in, and this is far and away the biggest score of the tournament so far. St Maarten has virtually no chance to come back and chase this down.

Extremely entertaining partnership though. Bobb looked exhausted out there.

Re: Stanford 20/20 from St. Johns, Antigua

John Eugene scored 100 not out, but St Maarten came up just short, finishing their 20 at 158-6. They needed 16 from the final over, but could only manage 5 runs. For a while there, it looked like St Maarten might actually win.

By far the best match of the tournament so far.

Eugene with the first century in the history of Stanford 20/20.

Re: Stanford 20/20 from St. Johns, Antigua

Today's match between St Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago.

St Lucia batting first, and are off to a decent start at 56-1 after 10 overs. There's been lots of rain today, and we're currently in the second rain delay.

T&T should be the big favorites though, they've got Daren Ganga, Lendl Simmons, Dave Mohammed, and a few other players who've made recent appearances for West Indies.

Re: Stanford 20/20 from St. Johns, Antigua

Complete domination from the Trinidad bowlers in the final 10 overs. St Lucia finished 105-9, but frankly, I don't know how they scored that many.

Dave Mohammed picked up 5 wickets for 8 runs from just 3 overs.
Figures of 5/8 makes him the top bowler in Stanford 20/20 history.

Re: Stanford 20/20 from St. Johns, Antigua

Easy win for Trinidad, 106-2 after 12 overs.
They're the best team we've seen yet this year.
Last time, they made it all the way to final before losing to Guyana.

They join St Vincent in the quarterfinals.

Re: Stanford 20/20 from St. Johns, Antigua

Big win for Barbados over Dominca tonight. Dominica actually restricted them to a small total, but when their batsmen faced the Barbados bowlers, there was a noticable gap in ability. The big teams are starting to make their presence felt in this tournament.

Re: Stanford 20/20 from St. Johns, Antigua

Today's match between Jamaica and the Bahamas.

Jamaica is missing some top players, but they should still win this quite easily. There's lots of teams that have already been eliminated from this tournament that were far better than the Bahamas.
