Safety Cars: 8 for 14 Laps

Re: SuperCheap Auto Bathurst 1000

Happy where Team McGrath finished as well. Of course people are wondering who the heck Team McGrath is?
It's the McGrath Foundation :p

Re: SuperCheap Auto Bathurst 1000

Can't believe Murphy and Skaife. I really can't. They are the new legends of Bathurst. Murphy's run at the end was unbelievable. If they hadn't have had that safety car problem then they would have won for sure. Murphy was travelling at a second a lap quicker. That means by my calculations, had that safety car not interrupted their strategy, Murph would have been 12 seconds or more ahead of Tander/Ritter come the very last safety car.

Patrizi and Coulthard probably would have finished in the top 10 had their engine not blown up.

Besnard/Ritter and Murphy/Skaife would have been 10 seconds ahead of G.Tander/W.Davison had that safety car not come out. It would have lead to an even better finish, that's for sure.

So true. I did hear that their engine blew up. There were so many crashes.

Re: SuperCheap Auto Bathurst 1000

Ritter wouldn't have been able to hold up to Murphy's last stint, so they would have been sure winners.

Just the way the motorsport works.

Gotta say though it was an amazing finish. Not as good as last years but still bloody good. Hope Junior Johnson can get a win up in the next few years. He deserves it.

I also can't believe how tight the finishes are. The cars and drivers are so very evenly matched. To be on the lead lap after 161 laps around there for anyone is a brilliant effort, and there isn't just one or two these days, but a whole freight train.
