Teams/Squads for this season

Re: Teams/Squads for this season

Scotch

likely line up

Mather - played all 10 games last year scored 2 fifties. Dravidesque technique, values his wicket like no other.
Jamieson - played 4 games last year, yr 10 looking good for future, claims he can bowl.
Macmillan - 3rd year of 1sts this year, keeper bat, scored 2 tons and 2 fifties last season and is scotch's star player and probable captain.
Eldridge - gun allrounder scored a ton last year and played as a bowler at the end of year 9, played all 10 games last year and 3 the year before
O'Beirne- in year 9 this year and played all 10 games last year batting at 6. Is probably the best young player in the aps.
McMahon - promising middle order bat who played 6 games last year, scored 3 fifties on recent tour to england, can also bowl handy meds
G. Van Den Broek - talented bat who played 4 games last year batting at 7
Sinclair - played the one dayers last year, handy lower order hitter and can bowl some nice chinamens when required
M. Van Den Broek - played all 10 games last year bowling 1st change. Also has a top score of 45 not out, can bowl heat when in the mood
Muttdon - played all 10 games last year opening the bowling, 20ish wickets, batting average of 2.8 also makes him a dangerous tail ender haha
Collins - played all 10 games last year winning scotch bowling averages, with 20 wickets @ 15. deceptive left armer

12th - Hensman - handy leggy who can bat a bit, yet to play 1's.

Re: Teams/Squads for this season

Haileybury to battle this year
Williamson (c)- most experienced 1st XI campaigner, handy offies and the best bat
Gunston - solid bat with a great pair of hands
Ravindran - hard to stop when he gets going very quick across the outfield
Matters - handy leggie with a solid defence (easily bat the whole day in the two-dayers)
Leonadis - hits the ball extremely hard, handy bowler..played a few games last season
Coleman - freak
Nainhabo - played a few games last year...struggle for confidence (can he get off the mark this season)
Mathers - cattle-truck, played all the games last year and made runs and got a few poles
Walsh - first year at the top...very good left arm pace bowler
Bray- handy bat and bowl also first year at the top (yr 9)
Seccull- kept and batted against skevs last season...get set of mits and a good bat
this is the possible starting XI with the squad yet to be officially announced

Re: Teams/Squads for this season

MGS to be a contender yet again this year with Morris, Voyage, Cameron, Keath, Bean, Bett and Trotter returning from last years team
Also McIldowie and Nottle as year 12s
Some strong year 10s as well such as Jenkins, Clark, Harrod and DeFegely who have all played practice matches this year

forgetting K. Nathan - On scholarship to play fourths
and M. Fernandopulle - Asked to repeat year 12, so might rise above the thirds this season

How can you say that the year 10s dont add much. Jenkins scored a ridiculous amount of runs last year including a ton. Clark was consistent as a top order batsman making several scores and won the bowling average. Harrod took nearly 20 wickets last year and made runs very quickly. And as for Defegely being a **************, he made everyone he bowled to look like a ************** with an economy rate of under 2 for the whole year.

All fair enough (apart from last bit), but year 10s in Clark and Jenkins both will add something to the team. Replacing richie thomas, will payne, shaw, gooley is impossible.

Unfair on young deffy though, had figures of about 1/10 off 8 or 9 overs against Camberwell grammar the other week. Not the best standard opposition, but still a good effort

Apart from Coleman and williamson, why bother posting all these players?

Also, gooley returns on apprenticeship scheme to shore up the batting

Re: Teams/Squads for this season

I have to fix up some errors with the Haileybury team.

Skelton (c)(coach)(head of cricket) BY far the most experienced leader in the APS, Skelton has captained his Allen Shield and Bietzel Shield sides for the past 3 years for a total of 2 victories. Yet to crack the firsts he was a bizzaire choice for captain however his strong but quiet confidence at training has lead to the decision. He can bowl Mediums, swing them both ways and is known to throw down some tweakers as well. A devistating left handed batsmen, Skelton strikes fear into any opening bowler and it isn't uncommon for teams to start with 7 on the fence when he pads up.

Williamson (vc)- Soured by not getting school leadership, Williamson started taking Codine in dangerous amounts. Even since he has only been training 17 times a week, hopefully he will front up at number 4 and make dozens of runs this year.

Gunston - Looks great in a first XI hat, has the uncanny ability to catch anything. A true ladies man, Gunston may be distracted by Meg in the field. Should definatley wear blinkers as we all know he loves the horse's.

Ravindran - The fastest player in the APS, Thanu has been known to lap his batting partners whilst running singles. He once bowled a wide to the square leg umpire. Since his accuracy issues have been fixed due to some intense, 18 hour sessions with Dennis Grace Thanu has became one of the best, if not the best seam bowler in the APS.

Matters - Weighing in at 24 kilos, Matters relies on extreme technique when batting. Impossible to get out, once made a 50 in 50 overs. Matters may not play this year as he will be bowling instead of White for Australia.

Leonadis - The Bear. Leo hit a six with my bat once, the only six it ever saw. Bowls pretty slow but can hit the seam.

Coleman - Coleman was given a scholarship ro Haileybury in year 3 and was in the firsts six months later. Opens the batting, bowling and wicketkeeper with incredable skill. But he kinda looks retarded.

Nainhabo - The worst batsmen in the APS.

Mathers - The most balanced all rounder in the competition, Mathers knows the score. I cart him at training.

Walsh - Should play 2's becuase they need someone who can play. Toast won't do it. Walsh, unknowingly slept walked onto a cricket fielt whilst having a Sunday Afternoon nap and made 35 and took 2/11.

Bray- No idea who this is.

Seccull- A keeper, a batsmen, a legacy. Seccel looks most comfortable with the gloves on, was rumoured to be the next captain of Haileybury.

Re: Teams/Squads for this season

Skelton's omission from the Haileybury First XI is one of the school's great mysteries. The guy oozes talent. Rumour has it that he refused to buy Dennis Grace a tomato juice at the canteen and told Leysy that Richmond couldn't win a premiership in a raffle if they had every ticket. Only possible explanation.

I heard Jenkins top scored for Grammar this weekend with 40 odd and got them to a respectable total of 220, future's looking good.

Re: Teams/Squads for this season

that is true. jenkins is good. he was a good agressive opening batsmen last year when we played him in 10a's
seems to have taken his form into 1sts.
good on him.
