The first US pro <b>cricket</b> league is just an Indian league in thin disguise -

This is a fair criticism—MLC is largely owned by Willow TV, with substantial investment by three IPL teams, and other owners skewing heavily South Asian. And, as noted, NY, LA and Texas are branded with IPL nicknames

But give MLC credit—as opposed to earlier efforts with another immigrant game (soccer), MLC is investing in infrastructure, building their own cricket grounds instead of just staging matches on baseball fields

Also, the league has been developing roots, as the related Minor League Cricket has been operating for two years, with roughly 50 teams across the U.S.

So while MLC does look a lot like IPL-West, they do have a long-term plan
