I'm sorry to hear that, mate. Is there a chance of curing it? :(

Bad news from you as well, Jessica. This is what lots of people in Europe and elsewhere need to be prepared for just because thunderstorms are getting more and more dangerous due to the atmosphere being more energy-rich than it used to be when we were young.
My garden was flooded, the gutters and drains took a hammering but just about held up, we had to use planks of wood to make a makeshift channel to divert the water out into the street, no lasting damage and no injuries, thank God 🤗

Thank you both dearly for you concern. I am seeing a small improvement in his leg movement but too soon to tell if the medication is having any real effect. Thomas the only sure cure is an operation but risky given Bubbles age. Operation cost.. a cool $13K. Bubbles hates taking tablets by mouth so that has been a battle. Will keep you posted on his condition.

Jessica you were lucky as no major damage from those storms. As Thomas said summer thunderstorms are far more potent than they used to be.. world wide now it seems.. yet we still have global warming sceptics.. like my son.

Any improvement is good to hear, I know Bubbles means a lot to you 🙂
I used to hide my dogs medication in a cube of meat, she got wise to it though so I started crushing it up and mixing it with a drop of gravy, then pouring it over her meal. One way or another she was getting her medication.

I've noticed that our summers are getting hotter, we have another heatwave forecast in August and then it's downhill towards autumn 🤗

We heard that the Aussie actor Dieter Brummer has passed away, he was great in Home And Away in its heyday, what a stunning looker he was too, it's reported that he committed suicide due to lockdown restrictions ruining his window cleaning business, surely he could've continued his business as he specialised In high rise buildings so would've been working outdoors and presumably alone ☹
Is there any update on this Richie?

Our pets are like family Jessica. Took Bubbles to vet and he is pleased with his improvement. A huge relief. To my naked eye his left leg seems less paralysed than say even two days ago. His demeanour has perked up too.. and he is eating better. have procured a pill administrator.. much easier for us and less stressful for Bubbles. I never watched Aussie soaps so did not know much about Dieter Brummer. Sad when anyone finds life too difficult they are forced to end it.
Need you to update medal tally on Olympic thread Jess. I think it will be a ding dong battle between you Poms and we Aussies for a winner. Thomas' Germany seems to have crashed and burned. Wonder if the disgraced Mal is happy with NZs performance.

That is good news! 🤗
Let's hope Bubbles continues to improve 👍
How does a pill administrator work Richie?

I've just posted our medal tally, seems we are doing really well 🤗

Shall we leave the door open for Mal to return? I'm a bit concerned about him too, with this damn virus, if we leave the door open for him then he could come back and we could start over again. Just a thought 🙂

I'm not really into soaps but I did like Home And Away in its heyday. RIP Dieter Brummer, such a talented young actor, sadly he had mental health issues and couldn't handle lockdown restrictions ☹️

What would that be? Never heard of that?🤔
Yes, it was clear from the outset that the UK and AUS will perform better than my tiny country.🤗

Good to hear that there is a slight improvement for Bubbles. :thumbsu: My Sari needs to get pills against her heart valve trouble. No idea how they actually work?

It is a device to administer a pill into your pets' mouth. Has always been a battle to feed Bubbles a tablet. On first try the device is tricky as you can spit the pill out before you put it in the mouth. But wife and I are getting the hang of it now. Sari has a heart defect too. How do you get the pill into her system?

Germany .. a small country? You have always been a sporting nation. I recall seeing videos of German sports carnivals and training exercises.. hundreds of women and men on the one field.

We pulverize it and mix it with the food. Problem is that she doesn't always eat her food so that the pills are not regularly administered. I might want to have a look if such a pill administrator is on offer here, too.

But not as good as AUS and the UK. I don't know how top-class sport is funded in your countries. In GER you hardly get financial support in sports other than football. Athletes are more concerned about their career after their career in competitive sports. Young people can hardly be motivated to engage themselves.
What you may have seen sounds like the infamous sports carnivals held in the Third Reich or Communist East Germany. The Federal Republic of Germany does not have them.;)

I love Sari and Bubbles 😍

One of our athletes mentioned that she had funding from the national lottery 👍

I love Sari and Bubbles 😍
You are a sweetheart Jess. More than a minor improvement by Bubbles.. he can now stand on both hind legs.. tho still a little wobbly on his left. Coincidence Thomas that both our beloved pooches have heart trouble. Bubbles has lived with his for five years now. Two doses every day. Bonnie scared the pants of us on Saturday when a large pink nodule appeared under her bottom. Luckily it was a recurrence of her scent gland infection. Phew!! I gotta tell you as we feared the worse. She is back on antibiotics for a week. Yeehah Bubbles is finally taking his meds from his food. Wife picked up some chicken breast. I sneakily hid it inside a piece and he woofs it down. Less stress for him and us to be honest than doing it by hand to mouth.

That's really great news, mate, innit, except for the reoccurrence, of course. :thumbsu: As for the heart valve trouble, my vet said it was normal for smaller dogs at a certain age. Larger breeds like Dobermans also have heart trouble far earlier as they can drop dead all of a sudden at the age of two.

I love Bonnie too 😍

Great news that her nodule is nothing serious 🤗
And great news that Bubbles can stand up, he must feel like a puppy again 🤗 I found the best way to give a dog a tablet is to put it inside some meat.
Our pets have to be checked out all over their fluffy bodies, I remember once when I was walking through some trees as a short cut home, I saw a guy checking out his dogs whoopsie, he told me he has to check to make sure he isn't passing blood, I totally understood his anxiety.

It's a shame that Dobermans can die young. Boxer dogs have trouble breathing with the way their noses and mouths are, they don't have a very long life expectancy, although I've seen a few older looking ones on my rounds.

Richie have you heard of the Cape York Peninsula? Beautiful part of Australia which was featured in Bush Tucker Man. Also have you ever been to the outback? It fascinates me how big Australia is and that some parts are unspoilt.
