The most awaited cricket world cup, 2011

Finally, the biggest tournament in world cricket returns to the sub-continent for a third time in just over two decades. But last month, ICC has ditched Pakistan due to security concerns.

For the record, England has hosted the ODI World Cup four times; Australia-New Zealand, South Africa and West Indies once each; so in that affect, the Indian sub-continent hosting its third tournament just strengthens the widely held belief as to where all the money is coming from.

Facts:
• Of the 49 matches due to take place in the tournament, 29 will be played in India, 12 in Sri Lanka and eight in Bangladesh.
• A total of 13 venues will be used for the tournament.
• Bangladesh will stage two of the four quarter-finals, with India and Sri Lanka hosting one each.
• The two semi-finals will be staged in India and Sri Lanka, with the final in India.
• The budget for Cricket World Cup 2011 could range from 40 million to 50 million US dollars.

Its an open affair as far as im concerned, but I think Australia will walk away with it in the final against a suprise team in either India or Sri Lanka.

India and South Africa in the final- India to win.
should be the closest world cup ever. Australia, India, Sri Lanka, South Africa, New Zealand and Pakistan all have good chances.

The most awaited cricket world cup, 2011...which should be in Australia and I for one will be left to rue this decision if it is indeed the last 50-over world cup, with what the joke that 50-over cricket is dead anyway.
Wait in 30 years time for everyone to get sick of 20/20 Cricket because of overkill.
Oh, and the most awaited cricket world cup, 2011...which should be in Australia.
