Tour Match: CA Chairman's XI vs New Zealand at Lilac Hill
New Zealand's short tour starts off with the annual tour match at Lilac Hill here in Perth. The Chairman's XI have continued New Zealand's poor run of form, they've put NZ to the sword so far, smashing everything the kiwis have thrown at them.
At the moment, they're 5/236 in the 33rd over. The innings has been highlighted by a blistering innings from Luke Pomersbach who blazed 88 off 65 balls which included 12 fours and 3 sixes. David Hussey, Mike Hussey's younger brother has also batted superbly and has 72 off only 51 deliveries.
Other contributors have been Theo Doropoulos with 32 and Liam Davis with 30 runs. Luke Ronchi was out for a duck on the first ball of the game and Phillip Hughes was also out for zero.
The NZ bowlers have all been smashed excpet for Chris Martin who has bowled well for 1/25 off six overs. The others have gone for six runs an over or more with Iain O'Brien the biggest offender, he has 1/52 off only four overs, those figures are very Twenty20-esque.
CA Chairmans XI: *+Luke Ronchi, Liam Davis, Luke Pomersbach, Phillip Highes, David Hussey, Theo Doropoulos, Ryan Campbell, Trent Kelly, Aaron Heal, Matthew Olsen, Shawn Gillies, Jo Angel (12th man).
New Zealand XI: Lou Vincent, Brendon McCullum, Jamie How, Scott Styris, Matthew Sinclair, +Gareth Hopkins, Jacob Oram, Chris Martin, Jeetan Patel, Iain O'Brien, Michael Mason, Mark Gillespie (12th man).
12th man will be able to bowl today as this is a 12-man match with 11 batting and 11 fielding.
Not sure who is captaining NZ today with Vettori not playing. I would say it would be Scott Styris, surprised he hasn't got a bowl either with the run rate over seven.
