The top 3 clubs in Senior North are very good sides, and I think their standard is up to scratch, however the other 5 teams is not.

And yes there is a huge gulf between Senior/Senior A and Senior North

Yeah, OEG, Hoppers and Keilor look to be a bit above the rest. Anything can happen in the finals though!! I play for OEG and very much looking forward to it.

For those of you that have played in the defunct Footscray Cricket Association, the following may be of interest to you.


FOOTSCRAY CRICKET ASSOCIATION 75TH ANNIVERSARY REUNION
SUNDAY 4TH MARCH 2007 ANGLISS RESERVE 12 NOON

The Footscray ANA Cricket club, formed in 1931-32, will celebrate its 75th anniversary on Sunday 4th March 2007 with a players' reunion. This will be held at Angliss Reserve beginning at 12 noon and ending at 6pm. A barbecue lunch, an open canteen and bar facilities will be available.

The event will also coincide with the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Footscray Cricket Association which also began in 1931-32. Former players and officials from all FCA clubs are invited to attend and swap stories with friends and 'foes' alike. People are encouraged to bring along any items of memorabilia. Please pass on this information to others.

The highlight of the day will be a Twenty20 match played between a team of retired ANA players up against a team of retired FCA players. Len Balcam, the former Victorian and Queensland state representative, has said he'll play. The game is scheduled to start at 1pm.

No, as if that's him.. That picture was on the last 'leading edge' or whatever its called, be very surprised if that's him. Having said that Yarraville club and my team washed out this year so never seen him to know if he has that that sort of megalomaniac personallity. He's pretty bloody good though, prob will win of Adam Contessa.

chelsea are easily the best team in any grade. their bogan attitude gets them through any sticky situation out on the field. Jason Chapple is better than bakes. when bakes comes up with a record like Chapple then talk him up. Jimmy Searry is the best bowler in the senior comp and theres nothing he cant do. chelsea also have some good youngsters who will take over as future champions of the club and league. so just keep an eye out

Come on fellas of course its me!! jason chapple better than me?? your kidding t bone, great bloke, great fighter , great boozer, great missus..yeah your right he's got me covered!! I think ive got that little short arse contessa covered! As Jimmy Seary..gets paid more than me and isn't in the top 10 leading wicket takers!! Chelsea will get relegated next year without a doubt!!

Finals time boys, i come into my own...we dont pay 100 grand a year to finish second, hey 1 win from 4 aint bad!! money well spent i reckon!! straight to advanced hair with this years pay packet...YEAH YEAH!!

Any reports from the Yarraville club Vs South Caufield bust up/game?? I hear that 3 or 4 players from Yarraville will miss the GF!! Keilor should smash them if Taylor, O'keefe are out!! I think Bakes stayed clear thou, im sure he will let us know himself.

In the real grand final, senior north 2's, Keilor V"s OEG should be a ripper, any Keilor boys on line?? Heard that Arjun's thumb is OK which is good, he's a top fella.

Yarraville Club won by 1 wicket, chasing 295 and got there 9 down in the 3rd last over. Yarraville club have 1st,2nd and 3rd XI in the Grand Final, not bad for a Amateur? club

Tails got 6 weeks so looks like i'm gonna have to do the bulk of the batting and bowling in the big one this week...the south caulfield boys were very lucky i was in the changerooms giving birth at the time of the fight!!

A bat? ive never heard tails fist called that before!! i think Ash russell was asked where his mum gets her moomoos from..then it erupted, smackers stuck his fair sized beak in and got smackerd across his face(pardon the pun)
All a bit of fun really but as i said i was giving birth and belting down cigga so didnt see it!!

Glad you finally made a run in a Grand Final, only works out now at about $200 per Grand Final run over the 3 years....

Anyway, good luck tomorrow, I like to see the battlers do well. My prediction is you will beat Keilor by about $20000 this season, so a hard fought battle, as they came out hard with Hutchison, Brown, Marcy's and the like, but unless Bluey puts is hand in his pocket more rather than straight down his jocks where it usually sits, they will never catch up to you guys.

You should ask one of your 2 professional players to pay for the post match beers. So that can be O'Keefe, or Smart, or is it Skipper Turner, or Johnny Creampuffs (or so Ash said), or maybe Pacholi (but surely even Yarraville draw the line at paying him....), or even your good self. Maybe McEachon even - though I see he couldn't quite get you over the line again last week, left it up to someone else. He has a habit of doing that - getting out when it gets tight at the end doesn't he?

Anyway, as I said, good luck, you guys deserve it, anyone who can invest $350000 over 5 years deserves more than the 1 paltry flag you have to date.

Settle down , we all know me and Hulmey are the 2 profesionals at the clubbers!! Pacholi only signed at Yarraville for the arvo teas, and Beetlejuice (McEachon) only plays at yarraville cos its the only club where he's the second ugliest bloke!!

Fair points, can't argue there Bakes.

By the way, what is going on in this competition as far as on field behaviour goes? I hear there are already 2 reports coming out of the Senior Grand Final, both Keilor guys who were on the receiving end of some of "Porno" Howarth's incorrect guesses. Surely they know you are 50/50 when Lyndsay decides, he needs the phone a friend option before he locks in out or not out.

I popped into the North A Granny at Spotswood and watched as a bloke from St Albans went out second last ball, then proceeded to run back to the Willy huddle that was giving him a send off and throw the biggest haymaker seen since - well last week when Tails let one go. Pretty funny if it wasn't so violent, you could hear the voice in his head screaming "changerooms or the mob, mob, mob", and he chose the mob. Very lucky the Willy boys were laughing so hard that they couldn't smack him back.

What is it with you guys Bakes? Punching on mid pitch in the Grand Final v Keilor 3 years ago, punching on mid pitch again last week? You blokes give this comp a bad name, surely any more indiscretions and the Association has to take a serious look. Jason Chapple is less disruptive than Yarraville Club - his only blemish of late is a TKO against our Boucher brothers. Just spend your cash and be happy, it is not as if you really care if you win or lose finals, as pay night is after Rd 11.

Good Amateur Clubs are Yarraville Club and Keilor :rolleyes: I wish the VTCA would have the balls to fellow there own rules (ie only allow 2 paid professional players) instead of coming with the running joke each year at the presentation night of which clubs spend the most money this year.
