Re: VTCA - Season 2006

Will Yarraville club be able to emulate the 3 peat of Preimerships in the late
80's in the FCA in the comming 2007/2008 season.

Re: VTCA - Season 2006

I think Keilor was the last North team to go from North A to Senior in 2 years.

Most teams seem to struggle to adapt and just scrape in to stay up or get horribly relegated, win the premiership again, then perform better second time around knowing whats needed.

I see alot of the same teams in the B section over the last couple season, would make more sense to go back to a local district comsp like, willi, Moone valley and churches.

It has been suggesed that the Willi, Moonee Valley and Churches A turf (1st divsion) and assocations matting A division is a better standard of cricket than the VTCA North B section, remember that VTCA B section is 1ST XI 4th divison teams.

Clubs leave there local assocations and enter the VTCA believing they are playing a better standard of cricket and they would make senior division with in a number of years, however for that to happen Club 1XI team will have to win 3 premerships in a row in each section( hard enough to win 1 let alone 3) and clubs have to improve on the players list and then come to compete against Keilor and Yarraville Club.

Doesnt make sense if your travelling to play park cricket, especially if u havent made head way for the last couple of seasons in B section. Rather move back to the local comps unless you recruit alot of new blood and that doesnt come cheap.

Some of the clubs have been in B section for a few years and dont look like going up. Travelling can be a problem especially to Craigiebuen and saying coming from Seabrook or Sunshine.

You seem to have a lot to say hiding behind your keyboard as you tug yourself. Why don't you do something construtive & come on the VTCA executive & give a hand or has that hand full of something.

By the way, we at the executive have been following your progress GIBROWN. Sounds very familiar to the emails one of our exec used to get, ala John L.

Re: VTCA - Season 2006

I beleive Premiers of the Churches comp Melton Centrals, looking to join VTCA depending on availability of turf grounds. Was suppose to play them in a practice game last season but was washed out. Seems their not keen on the idea on playing Sundays in the churces comp because of lack of grounds. And with losing the wicket down at Angliss reserve, could mean more sundays games in the comming season if they stay in the churches.

We will not have church teams in the vtca..how will they be able to handle the likes of chelsea and doutta verbally destroying them and their beliefs!!

Re: VTCA - Season 2006

Im sure than can handle them selves, after all i assume playing Melton at home aint not picnic either. If they cross over, they will join x churches team Kingie Baps.

Re: VTCA - Season 2006

Is anyone going to presentation night friday night? icos if anyones sitting close to the great man Lyndsy i would love the oppotunity to switch seats and get close to the great man..maybe twist the ends of his mo..enjoy a glass of red with him and discuss his favourite fingering techniques..and how much he enjoyed hale and pace! oh Lyndsy..you need to be rimmed again!!

Re: VTCA - Season 2006

Will take a few years even before they will play each other. If Melton Centrals come in the VTCA they will start at North B.

With all these new teams wanting to come in, may have to create another 1XI Grade.. My bet the VTCA will lose a few team back to "local" comp. Watch this space.....

Dont suppose anyone out there is looking for a coaching job in North A1 - give me a call 0402 149 867 or notify of your interest to trish_stu@bigpond.com

Which team you recruiting for? Are you after a captian coach, or non playing coach?

Re: VTCA - Season 2006

Spotswood have appointed Camberwell Magpies all-rounder Dan Davies as captain-coach for the next two seasons. Very good pick up for them.
