Yep - the draft copy of the fixture has both Maccabi Ajax & Cheltenham in Senior A for 08/09.

At Spotty, we have secured Ash Robertson from Melb Uni. Looked pretty "lively" on Mon nite training. Should be a quality bowler in our comp. Also, a mate of a mate has emerged. Played over in Perth for the last 3 years. Don't know too much about him yet, but is a keeper/batsmen who played district or the equivalent in Perth.

Ash Robertson , so will he be bowling 40 overs a game so spotty are competitive ??? Yes , he will do some damage , alot more too if they dish up decks ala last GF....

Don't know if there's much to read into there. They'll be very competitive in Senior A if they keep the same team.

Pen in Robertson for 35+ wickets, huge coup.

Seemed to work well with Ronnie last year !!
Their firts crashed out of the finals, 2nds won 3 games for the year and the 3rds only won one.:D:D

As DSCC been recruiting up Darwin way again and will they have the services of Ion all year or just have him play the last 3 games to qualify for finals again? This rule needs to be changed!

I'm not saying a non-playing coach is not useful, just that they are a waste of money in the VTCA when you can buy a 450 run or 25 wicket player that wins you matches. A VTCA club should be able to get their pro to coach or get a past player do it for free.

Douttas had a non playing coach this year, seemed to do ok

With a thriving rubbish removal business and his part-work behind the bar at the Guiding Star , Little Tiger is a busy man pre-xmas these days so douttas are happy to leave him alone til the new year.
You must be kidding yourself to say a bloke cant play last 3 to qualify...

Onto 08/09 cricket matters, it would seem AWCC have been active recruiting in the the off-season and probably start favourites to win it.

Can DSCC and KCC or any other of the Senior Division sides provide an update on comings and goings? I would think pre-season should kick-off soon if it already hasn't for most teams.

Clinton Stewart in negotiations with Yaraville Club after a night out with new captain coach Baker at Osullivans last Saturday night. The two were seen dancing and drinking together and getting on like a house on fire.

Stew Wigmore has signed on again as assistant fielding coach at Douttas ive been told.

Warren Kelly from Kielor apparantly gone (BIG LOSS :cool:)

Maybe they will do ok Cash Man, but they will have to chase some big scores cos they cant bowl! Not a top 4 team surely.

Didn't get on with Hall but he got on well with Simpson and the SCCC boys last season. Strange move though. If it was about the cash he'd be heading somewhere else altogether.

Well that would mean the Simpson is not coming back out to play for SCCC, as you are allowed 1 o seas player:confused:

Simpson not coming back, playing 2nd's at Middlesex this English season & will be in Adelaide for 3 months doing a Darren Lehmann academy.

Actually has averaged 25 ,15 & 20 for the past 3 seasons.
Think you'll find it's Willy CYMS , i stand to be corrected.

Here's a future headline "Vic Chand walks out" (Won't predict what round)

Why would APW bother with Chand. Surely he won't bowl in front of Brown, Jones, Taylor and Macumber. If he doesn't get the new ball he will spit it.
The guy has swapped clubs mid season on a number of times. |@
