Welcome to the site Richard , hows the band going ????? Being an avid follower of the vtca , i'm sure i saw that Ion bloke batting at douttas on sat in the 2nds but when i look in the scores , he is under the name of Issa. Has he changed his name Yousuf Youhanna style (mohammed yousuf) ??? Im positive that was him , or his identical twin ??? Heard he was coming back , anyone confirm ???

Cheers, I heard he had a contract for this season at Altona Nth. His brother isn't playing at all apparently.
The bands going great guns thanks for askin.

care factor?
they also had a gun bat that used to arrive in a cab (that he was driving).
an opening batsman that looked like franky zappa!
a batsman that used to get a rubdown off his dad after the days play!
and a wicket keeper known for throwing his bat through a window and having his mum bring his lunch out to him while he was batting!
and a 45 year old porn star for an opening bowler!

fair club.....
mmmmm... sounds like another victim of a Seddon thrashing. Chin up ole' chap

And....

Who gives a rats about Yarraville Club paying their players?

If the clubs got money, spend it. Whinge, whine and piss and moan about them being paid. Doesnt change the fact that they would mow down some District 1st XI's. Good on 'em.

How many GF's in the last 5 years have they made?

Money + Good players = Success.

As good as it is to have plenty of money how fair is it on the not so fortunate clubs such as Mentone, Altona Nth, Youlden, Chealsea ect. ect. who have absolutly no chance against the powerhouse of Keilor & YCCC, whats the point, there surly needs to be some sort of salary cap rule!! its an absolute joke the the VTCA havnt already woken up and smelt the flowers..

though this would be a little hypercritical as the blokes running the show are generally heavialy associated with these dominating clubs.

cricket, like footy, is becoming far less interesting, even at park level!!!

True.

But how does it feel to actually beat one of those cashed up clubs? Very rewarding I would think ;)

it absoltuly does, but for the RARE time that it happens IS IT REALLY WORTH IT..
whats cricket coming to, blokes dont even stay around for drinks anymore! i am a slightly paid player though i still feel an obligation to stay around the club and have a drink with the opposition team and the elders of the club..
put these teams in a "Premier" VTCA league to play off in their own little world, whilst the rest of us play our "park cricket"

The point is that any 1 club is only allowed to pay 2 players. FACT!!!! So, therefore, they are cheating!!! FACT!! The VTCA either need to change the rules and make it unlimited paid players, or follow the subbies where an audit is done on each club (which I can't see how that works).

Now, enough about the green parachute kermits. Lets all move on hey??

It seems I was a bit hasty on whinging about our protest being rejected..

Apparently, it is still being heard, and we could get some of the points..

It is a team rule at my club that you must stay and have a beer either home or away, first week or second....most of the time there is more of us than the home side though.. joke these sides that sit in there change rooms and dont socialise!
