Re: WACA Grade Cricket - 2010-11

Excellent work stacksonthemill. I wonder if Nick deGrys is playing for Wanneroo again this season.

Re: WACA Grade Cricket - 2010-11

He moved to the 'Roos from Claremont-Nedlands at the start of last season, but I haven't heard any news on what he is doing in 2010-11.

Yes, he played one game but had Achilles problems and spent the remainder of the season resting up.

Re: WACA Grade Cricket - 2010-11

Season format has changed slightly for this season.

* The Retravision Shield is still 15 rounds, but will be 9 two dayers and 6 one dayers instead of 10-5.

* Bowling points will be 0.3 per wicket instead of 0.2, and the points for one dayers will be similar to the old FRC system (no batting or bowling points per run/wkt).

* The Colts (U21) is now a knockout.

* The Statewide T20 is broken into three components with District clubs playing in 4 zones of 4 with three matches instead of the old knockout - four District clubs join two 'grassroots' metro teams and two country teams in the last eight. Two venues (one metro, one country) will host a round robin day with a 2-1-1 split with the winning team at each venue playing in the final as a curtain raiser to the Tassie KFC T20BB game.

* The Under 18 T20 will have set dates instead of dates to be arranged and Round 1 will be the curtain-raiser to the Round 1 District T20 matches. It appears that there will be no national competition lin February as the previous sponsor has pulled out.

Re: WACA Grade Cricket - 2010-11

Darcy Short from Darwin is playing the WACA comp on a scholarship (not sure what it is called), likely to play a fair bit of the Futures League U23 competition. Don't know what club he has been set up with.

the grade teams with strong darwin contacts are;
Perth- leif powis
bayswater- kym lawrence
Melville- sure one of the middle order bats is from NT. about the same age.

scarborough would also be on the look out for another batsmen as droppa and bandy have left and doubt clint heron will play on much longer.

Re: WACA Grade Cricket - 2010-11

Bandy moved to Subiaco-Floreat in 09/10 under the 10-year rule
Heron playing again
The WACA previews on the WACA website say that Short is playing at Gosnells

I believe that all WACA grades will be on, just like in 1990

that would be pretty silly if that were the case... premier cricket has been cancelled in Victoria,

ideally you could bring the round 3 one-day game forward to this sunday, and play rounds 1 and two the subsequent two weeks...

but at a minimum if that can't happen you could move the lower grades to sunday as they're only playing a 1 day game on the saturday...
