Wanderers in Samoa

North Eltham Wanderers are currently landing in Samoa to take up the challenge of the Presidents cup.

We wish them well and hope to post some results as the homing pidgeon delivers them from the South Pacific Isl.

Just flew in homing pidgeon number 1.

NEWCC playing Presidents 11

NEWCC won by 8 runs, unfortunately no individual results at this point in time.

Today NEWCC play 2 20/20 matches.

Will keep you posted as we go.

Second pidgeon arrived, latest update as follows.

NEWCC won 2 of 3 games so far and are playing in the 40 over final tomorrow against SCANZ.

SCANZ beat us easily in a 20/20 match on Saturday, hopefully we can improve and set the ledgeg straight this time.

Game starts 10.00 am Samoa time (7.00am EST).

Report from the Prezz is that all is well weather humid, everyone except Frank has played at least 1 game.

Prezz kept in a 20/20 and maintained the standard set by Banksy.

Stace and Youngy best with the bat.

Bowling is being shared.:)

Wanderers playing the current President cup holders SCANZ in the 40 over final.

Wanderers bowled SCANZ all out for 136 with McNamara 5 for 19 and Dozie 4 for 36.

Wanderers 9 for 136 after 40 overs.

GAME TIED, with SCANZ retaining the Prime Ministers trophy for the 4th year.

NEWCC to be congratulated as they are the only team in 4 years to come close to the SCANZ team.

Looks like the challenge is set for next season with a NEWCC mounted all out assault on the cup, think I might come out of retirement for the tour.

Latest feed from the Isl is that they are all on R and R fishing and sight seeing.

More cricket Friday and Saturday.

NEWCC doing their bit for the Samoa economy and keeping a brewer and bottler in a job.

Members of the tour party game not fully known at this stage but some of the names of members over their are.
