Warm-up Matches Day 3 (Can v Ire, Sco v Ban, Ber v Zim, Ned v Ken)

4 more warm-up matches today.
Today it's the bottom 8 teams facing off against each other.

Canada v Ireland
Canada batting first. Samad and Bagai already out.
Barnett and Billcliff the current partnership.
Canada 34-2 after 8 overs.

Re: Warm-up Matches Day 3 (Can v Ire, Sco v Ban, Ber v Zim, Ned v Ken)

Scotland v Bangladesh
Scotland batting first, 12-1 after 5.2 overs.

Bermuda v Zimbabwe
Bermuda batting first, 14-1 after 9 overs.
Looks like Bermuda is on their way to another poor total.
They've played Zimbabwe before (twice in fact, just last May), so they can't complain about butterflies today.

Re: Warm-up Matches Day 3 (Can v Ire, Sco v Ban, Ber v Zim, Ned v Ken)

Scotland v Bangladesh
Scotland 62-2 after 16. Poonia scored a lot, but now he's out for 32.
Scotland might be able to put up a decent enough total here.

Bermuda v Zimbabwe
Bermuda 31-4 after 15. Bermuda's top order didn't contribute much. Ireland took 3 wickets so far for Zimbabwe.

Canada v Ireland
Canada 60-4 after 16. Barnett out for 27. Davison and Mulla need to stick around or the Irish bowlers might rip through the rest of the Canadian line-up.

Re: Warm-up Matches Day 3 (Can v Ire, Sco v Ban, Ber v Zim, Ned v Ken)

Scotland v Bangladesh
Scotland 98-6 after 28. Razzak came in and took 3 quick wickets, and now Rafique has taken the sixth. Scotland was 75-2, but have dropped pretty sharply to 98-6. It's all going Bangladesh's way at the moment.

Bermuda v Zimbabwe
Bermuda 73-4 after 26. Janeiro Tucker making a nice appearance with the bat, scoring 33 so far. They'll need a lot more than that to put up a decent score today though.

Canada v Ireland
Canada 86-6 after 24. Davison and Mulla are both out. It's Dhaniram and Qaiser Ali right now, and they're going to have to be really impressive if they want to prevent an Irish win today.

Re: Warm-up Matches Day 3 (Can v Ire, Sco v Ban, Ber v Zim, Ned v Ken)

Thanks a lot of the updates. It's very upsetting that I won't be able to watch any of the games on cable despite having hundreds of channels. How can cricket become popular when one has to spend $200 to watch an event? Curious people won't spend that kind of money to learn about a sport. Can you imagine where soccer in the US would be if the '90-'06 World Cups were available only via pay-per-view! FIFA would have made some short-term profits, but you can bet they wouldn't get anywhere close to $425 mil they are getting for the next two events. Very short-sighted decision by the ICC. |@

Re: Warm-up Matches Day 3 (Can v Ire, Sco v Ban, Ber v Zim, Ned v Ken)

Canada's all out for 115. Very dissapointing innings for the Canucks. They're gonna need a fantastic bowling preformance to win this one.

Re: Warm-up Matches Day 3 (Can v Ire, Sco v Ban, Ber v Zim, Ned v Ken)

Canada v Ireland

Canada all out for 115 - what a disappointment. Either there are some demons in the pitch, or Canada were out too late last night. Geoff Barnett top scored with 27 - next best was Extras with 24. Langford-Smith took 4-41 and McCallan took 2-0 in 0.5 overs :O

Bangladesh v Scotland

Scotland 130/9 after 41 overs. They'll be done soon too. Top scorer is Poonia's 32, Abdur Razzak has taken 3-22 in 8.

Bermuda v Zimbabwe

Bermuda are 112/6 after 41 overs. Janeiro Tucker is not out on 51. Ireland has 3-13 after 6 overs.

Kenya v Netherlands

Kenya are 73/3 after 41 overs...no recent updates on this one it seems. Tikolo not out on 25 and Suji not out 21. Jonkman has taken 2-22 so far.

Re: Warm-up Matches Day 3 (Can v Ire, Sco v Ban, Ber v Zim, Ned v Ken)

Canada v Ireland
Ireland 36-1 after 9 overs. This should be the lunch break now.
No reason not for Ireland to win fairly quickly after lunch.

Bangladesh v Scotland
Scotland finished their 50 at 152-9. Top notch bowling from the likes of Razzak, Rafique, and Saqibul.

Bermuda v Zimbabwe
Bermuda all out for 136 after 50 overs. Good for Janeiro Tucker, bad for everyone else. How often do we see one or two players from Bermuda have a good match, while the rest of the team fails to lend any support at all?

Kenya v Netherlands
The score is listed as 131-6 after 41, but I find that hard to believe. Looking at the bowlers stats, they don't seem to add up. They total 131 runs, but they only total 26 overs. Cricinfo says 116-3 after 26, which sounds more believeable.

Re: Warm-up Matches Day 3 (Can v Ire, Sco v Ban, Ber v Zim, Ned v Ken)

Canada v Ireland
Ireland 79-3 after 21. They only need 37 more runs, so they should get there fairly easily.

Bangladesh v Scotland
Bangladesh 52-2 after 12. They lost a few early wickets, but seem to be well on their way to a win. Nafees was out for a duck, and apparently Bangladesh have lost a 3rd batsman who retired hurt.

Bermuda v Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe 27-2 after 7 overs. Well, if Bermuda can pick up a few more wickets, who knows. Their total of 136 might not be half bad if this is a low-scoring pitch.

Kenya v Netherlands
Kenya finished at 274-8. The only high scoring match of the day. Kenya seems to be able to handle their fellow Associates fairly well, and this total should be enough to continue that trend.

Re: Warm-up Matches Day 3 (Can v Ire, Sco v Ban, Ber v Zim, Ned v Ken)

Canada v Ireland
Ireland 116-3 after 26.5 overs. A super easy win for Ireland today. Their bowlers may be peaking at the right time. Bray finished not out on 41.

Bangladesh v Scotland
Bangladesh 83-2 after 18 overs.
Aftab retd. hurt 19, apparently twisted a muscle in the waist while turning for a two, Shakib 30* batting with Bashar
Doesn't sound too serious. Hopefully Aftab will be fine. Sakibul may be picking up the slack, with 30 so far.

Re: Warm-up Matches Day 3 (Can v Ire, Sco v Ban, Ber v Zim, Ned v Ken)

Well, a superb effort against South Africa, and now a crushing win over Canada. For the past year I've been thinking that Ireland was the top Associate team, but they disappointed a little at the WCL, losing 4 matches (though all 4 basically came down to the final over or the final ball). Their bowlers really seem to be on form right now, and if Porterfield or Morgan or any of their other batsmen can have a good day, they could pull off a big win over the next few weeks.

Re: Warm-up Matches Day 3 (Can v Ire, Sco v Ban, Ber v Zim, Ned v Ken)

Bangladesh v Scotland
Bangladesh 108-3, Saqibul out for 45.
They only need 45 more runs though.

Re: Warm-up Matches Day 3 (Can v Ire, Sco v Ban, Ber v Zim, Ned v Ken)

Bangladesh v Scotland
Bangladesh win! 156-3 after 31 overs. They won with a large amount of both wickets and overs to spare. Ashraful and Bashar must have been hitting lots of boundaries in those last few overs.

Bermuda v Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe also win. 137-4 after 29 overs. Looks like Williams scored 72 not out for them. Another poor loss for Bermuda. Thoise matches against India and Sri Lanka could be ugly.

Re: Warm-up Matches Day 3 (Can v Ire, Sco v Ban, Ber v Zim, Ned v Ken)

Kenya v Netherlands
This is the only match still going on. Chasing 275, Holland is 77-0 after only 14 overs. That's a pretty darn good start. They might be able to give Kenya a match here.

Re: Warm-up Matches Day 3 (Can v Ire, Sco v Ban, Ber v Zim, Ned v Ken)

Netherlands 101-0 after 20 overs. Looks like this is the only good match of the day. Netherlands still needs 174 to win, that's more than any of the other 6 teams playing today scored.

Re: Warm-up Matches Day 3 (Can v Ire, Sco v Ban, Ber v Zim, Ned v Ken)

The Dutch continue their batting attack.
They lost a wicket, but they're 141-1 after 28.

They hold a clear advantage right now.

Re: Warm-up Matches Day 3 (Can v Ire, Sco v Ban, Ber v Zim, Ned v Ken)

Netherlands 200-3 after 41.

It's time to up the run rate, but they have wickets in hand.

Re: Warm-up Matches Day 3 (Can v Ire, Sco v Ban, Ber v Zim, Ned v Ken)

216-4 after 43

They need to keep scoring 8 per over.
They lost a wicket, but ten Doeschate is still in there.

Re: Warm-up Matches Day 3 (Can v Ire, Sco v Ban, Ber v Zim, Ned v Ken)

Netherlands 267-9 after 50

Kenya win by 7 runs

Re: Warm-up Matches Day 3 (Can v Ire, Sco v Ban, Ber v Zim, Ned v Ken)

Tough luck for the Dutchies. Was really pullin' for em.
