WCL Division 7 2009 (1st stage of Qualifying for 2015 ICC World Cup)

Last night in Guernsey was the start of the qualifying process for the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

6 countries are completing for the top 2 spots to advance to 2009 WCL Division 6 tournament in Singapore in August.

This is a round robin tournament where everyone plays everyone once with Finals Day on Sunday May 24.

Good work Robbo. Bahrain look to have a fairly strong batting line-up just from looking at the scores. They've managed over 230 each time they've batted, they also look to favour batting first rather than second.

that would have been an interesting game that :p, considering Japan went down to Bahrain after scoring 64 later in the series. not very high scores in comparison to the rest, i wonder why the big guys out there are trying to sell the game in places like Japan and America when they simply would rather play baseball. its like trying to sell baseball here in Australia, not gonna happen.

Bahrain again, another big total batting first. Guernsey too, with a score of over 300. Batting first in this tournament looks to be a clear advantage although Bahrain look to be class above this division.

The final should be good. Will be interesting to see how Bahrain go in division six.

Bahrain and Guernsey join Botswana,Malaysia,Norway and Singapore in WCL Division 6 tournament to be held in Singapore in late August.

Japan and Nigeria will remain in Division 7 for tournament in 2011.

Suriname and Gibraltar have been relegated to Division 8 for tournament in Mid to Late 2010. The other 6 countries in this Division to be determined by the ICC.

Bahrain too good again with the bat, they will be worthy opponents in division six.

Qamar Saeed probably Man of the Tournament there. Took a bag of wickets of wickets in almost every game and chipped in with the bat in a few matches also. A good all-round effort.
