Welcome to vBookie!

Welcome to vBookie - please take a moment to read the how to bet guide.

vBookie is a hack that allows us to create various events to bet on, from cricket to footy and anything else that you desire.

To allow you to place bets, we have (generously lol) given everyone 500 BigCricket dollars. The amount you have will always be displayed to the left of the forum, under your avatar (as in the picture below):

To place a bet, simply click on the thread you wish to wager on. Once inside you'll see all the possible betting options at the top, like so:

So, to place a bet on an Australian win, enter your wager in (1) or for a draw in (2). The check box by (3) means you can choose to keep your bet hidden from others if you wish. Click on the 'Bet' button (4) once you're happy with your gamble to submit it.

Some events may allow you to bet on more than one outcome or to change your bet - check the thread for details.

Odds will always be displayed using the fractional system, so Odds of 4/1 would imply that the bettor stands to make a 400BCash profit on a 100BCash stake. If the odds are 1/4, the bettor will make 25BCash on a 100BCash stake.

We will put up events but if there is anything that you'd like to see then please ask. Either pm one of the team or post in the request thread.

A quick breakdown of all the events can be found by clicking on the vBookie tab on the nav bar (highlighted in red):

Please note:

BCash is completely virtual and won't actually get you any real cash.

If you lose all of your BCash then you will receive a small amount to get you going again, once a new event is created.

Events will pay out after the stated pay out date.

If an event is cancelled then all monies will returned.

The admin decision is final in all cases.

Re: Welcome to vBookie!

How to create vBookie events - for those that haven't used it before.

Firstly, create a new thread as normal, but make sure the following check box is ticked before submitting the thread:

createvbook.png

You'll then be taken to a new screen:

createvbook2.png

1) Event Group - i.e Cricket, Soccer, Footy etc

2) Event Title - Whatever the event is (The Ashes, England vs India One Day and so on)

3) Outcomes - How many options (normally 2/3 but could be more depending on event)

4) Event Outcomes - Each possible betting option plus the odds (e.g Pakistan 4/1)

5) Dates - When can they bet up until, when will it pay out? Try to make sure that the event closes just before the match starts. Series can be carried up until the final game. Keep time zone as it is.

6)
Multiple Bets - Allow more than one outcome to be bet upon?

Other:

Try to get odds from a betting site (Paddy Power, William Hill and so on), keep a note of where they came from in case we need to update odds.

Re: Welcome to vBookie!

I think they should be changed because it may happen that some user may post high odds and mods may not be able to see it since they are very busy.

It should be restricted to only some people or mods.
