Who's the best 2day team?

Hard question 2 answer as no1 knows yet, we can speculate tho. Basically the way i see it is that with the decks gettin flatter and drier after xmas teams wont struggle to score runs, so it will reli come down to bowlin, and if the pitches dry out alot possibly spin will play a big part. So basically teams which have a resonable batting line up and a gun bowlin attack will do well. So if HC have patto bowlin would expect them to dominate the 2day games and any teams which have decent spinners aswell.

Thats my thoughts.

Re: Who's the best 2day team?

With patto back, aswell as Lynch, the HC boys should prove to be hard to handle on fast, bouncy decks after Christmas, look out for a couple of outright performances to put the Bloods back in business, with a sniff, albeit, a very small sniff, to threepeat the APS in 07/08.

Re: Who's the best 2day team?

Don't mean to be bias,
but, Geelong College are always alot stronger in the 2 dayers. Watch out for them. They may not be the most talented team, but the 2 day format really suits them, with:

Nice: really digs in with the bat, and bowls nagging, consistent lines

Lugg: Solid defence, his leg spin is certainly more suited to 2dayers

Rogredson: or noodles..... damaging with quickfire innings' and very sharp bowling

Beaumont: One of the best bowlers in the APS seriosuly

Roberts: Offspinner who is extremely tight

And ofcourse kitchen one of the best bats in the APS

Re: Who's the best 2day team?

Im tipping HC coming from behind to win The APS, they will win some 2day games outright against the minnows and even some decent teams. Xavier really should win but i think we will choke. I think HC will be terrible for the next 5-8 years after this batch of freaks.

its all about the bowling attack in the 2 dayers... because to win you almost have to take 10 wickets

Totally agree with you "coast to coast" to do well in 2dayers you must take wickets and plenty of them.Still trying to find out which School has recruited this so-called MAD DOG who apparently comes from NSW and can Bat and bowl maybe Xavier have already got him? I don't know their team well enough.Who are their gun players at the moment any from over the border.??

Re: Who's the best 2day team?

A certain school has a few new boys .A couple from NSW. May not play 1's as team settled and concentrating on football.

What schools are the ones with the NSW players because maybe this " MAD DOG" is amongst them .It's just that I have been reliably told that this kid is The best U16 player in NSW and he has walked away from State Rep cricket to play APS school Cricket. Must be on a scholarship .And the answer is no it is not me but I foundout about this kid through my cousin who was trying to tell me NSW cricket is better blah blah blah He told me that I will find out his name after the first round!!!!Don't think he knows what school he is going to anyhow.
