Willy Comp 2011/2012

IMPS 10/11 - average team, not competitive, no quicks & 1 bloke that looks like he bats alright but hardly ever makes over 50
IMPS 11/12 - average team, competitive in a below normal WDCA standard & depleted competition, would of battled to make finals last year.

2011/12 IMPS vs 10/11 Newport Digman ... [ likely outcome: ND 10/275(ghazi 150) def IMPS 10/110
(mcFairl 3fa, gurreara 3fa, pobaga 3/fa)

LONG,LONG way off the standard of last years Premiers
Bowling attack of Digman was far to powerful for the Imps very mediocre batting line up. ND's batting line up was sometimes suspect against good attacks but would comfortably get 200-300 against the Imps pedestrian bowling attack. ND easily able to defend 150-160.

IMPS VS 10/11 West Newport ..[likely outcome: 11/12 IMPS - 10/ 130 def by 10/11 Wst.N 10/260 (w.phil 100)
(young irv 5fa, older irv 5fa)

Again a LONG way off last years Runners-Up. West a good solid team All round.
Last years marquee batsman Phillips would enjoy what the Imps bowlers manage to dish up
followed by a fairly long batting order & handy few batsman to follow Phillips at the top.
West's bowling attack was also strong & would be only a notch below the premiers attack.
Again Imps would battle to scratch up a competitive total in the longer format of the game &
before you mention it, The bowling attack is practically the same, yes. But, One day games in
our comp are often hit or miss and can go either way. Much different having to play out 3, 4.. 5 or even 6 days of cricket.

IMPS VS 10/11 Grand United ...[likely outcome: 10/11G.U - 10/210 def 11/12 IMPS 10/160]
(comonsly 70, cachia 70) (sullivan 3fa, konjevit 3fa)
Grand united, although not as strong as previous seasons last year, were still very competitive with 1st and 2nd
& would also give the Imps a rude awakening. Experience, intimidation & not forgetting some very handy bats
all the way down the order ( without having a big gun as did in previous years ). Grand's bowling attack was average,
but not below average.. Could get the job done week in week out without being extremely dangerous. Imps side would fair more chance against GU than NDCC & WNCC providing there batsman all bring there best & knocked up 250-300+.

IMPS VS 10/11 Whyndhamvale [likely outcome:11/12 IMPS-10/185 (t.law 3fa) def 10/11 W'Vale 10/165.(t.law 70)

W'vales side last year was very inconsistent. On their day could strongly compete with the top sides... A bad day and they might get bumped by the cellar dwellers. Imps current side & W'vale of 10/11 would be a very even match up! If Trent was on song bowling, anything around 100 would be possible and max of 150-180 if they got away late in the day when big Trent cant run in any more. Trent has a stiff day with the ball.. 180 to 250 would be a fairly good bet. Again Vales relying on T.L, If they managed to get him out cheaply they would be almost home with anything over 150 on the board but also T.L could have a feast on the pedestrian attack, making a 250+ score not safe so long as he is at the crease

Oh well, our 2011/12 season is over after all that.

Best I tell the lads to go on our end of season trip this weekend.

Imps are gone :(

looks like nothins changed at the cabbies....still the worst wicket in the comp.we have got enough to win that outright...a turf cricket shouldnt be played there.interesting to see the outcome of cheats v yesterdays heroes...what sort of wicket will the cheats prepare this week???????? 4 fa 40 odd chasing 120, hope the west newport rain clouds dont come around again!!!!!! cookers putting monkeyvale to the sword, only lawford can save them now....the great little family club should win unfortunately

Try taking 10 wickets 1st before you start talking about outrights. If I were you I wouldn't be complaining about ordinary pitches seeing as your bowling line up needs all the help it can get. Who knows, you might even get a bowl again?!

Obviously the Cheats havent changed since i saw them last in that infamous 2009/10 A turf semi, still up to the same tricks are they? Yesterdays Heroes better expect a green top when they arrive at the "House of Dishonesty" on Saturday. Be watchful of when your about 110 that there arent rain clouds or a storm hovering otherwise the Cheats will cramp up, pull a hammy or get up to the same bulls**t they got up to that day!!!

On behalf of Williamstown Imperials we would like extend condolences to the Collins lads, Adam, Kane & Liam on the passing of their mother earlier this week.

R.I.P.

Haha, I along with my club have moved on since then, I was just giving GU some advice for the weekend should there be a green-top prepared and rain/storm clouds around. Just stating the facts!!

Hows it feel playing against the same teams and same players year in and year out, must get pretty boring, where is there to go after you win an A-Turf Premiership??

This new comps pretty good and if the clubs had the balls they would come over as well, ive heard on the grapevine that a couple are headed across for next season, if that were to happen, the comp would be f**ked!!
