I heard a whisper that there were five reports from the YCW v Darebin match...

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

That would've been a pretty fiery game if five went into the book!

Rumour mill starting to get going down at the Parkers. Plenty of questions asked on there loss to lalor. some unhappy players with the way the new skip is going about things.. Defs has his favorites down there & others missing out.... watch this space.

Well I've been saying for weeks that KP were getting rated a bit too highly for my liking. According to a few of the Lalor boys it was a good team effort by them.

Keen to see the outcomes... Any news Re:reports of ycw players?

What has happens to HT! Biggest disappointment to date without a doubt.Must win this round otherwise could pretty much kiss the season goodbye.

what is going on in this comp?? cones at Sullivan are we mad? Don't start this " they do it in international games"
because we are park hacks! I think the comp should take a real hard look at itself, and I mean hard. 280 is now not safe
on that ground, we need to restructure the grades as the reserve theme is just not working, need to go back to our old grading systems
as this one is shite! There's to many clubs that have two teams!
Back to A grade, B grade, C grade ect. If your not good enough you shouldn't be playing in a reserve grade just because your ones are in "A" grade
and you get smashed every week. As for having to have 3 teams to play "A" grade, that is absolute rubbish and lets add the so called " Junior " program into this as well, you just can't get them doesn't matter how hard you try. It's time to go back to the past, if your good enough to play at the highest level you
can if not bad luck drop a grade. It's all about trying to get people to play not shutting down clubs and people leaving the game. We want
as many participants that we can get, so we shouldn't have a set of rules that fly's in the face of what we are about!! If you don't have this you can't play!!
It should be " You have a team, your most welcome to play".
This is really not that hard, it served us well for 50 years so why change it?? You close up a club because they don't meet the criteria you just made up
and you lose 20 or 30 players because they will not play for anyone else!! This is rubbish and the board must restructure, and I mean urgently.

Sorry I forgot to mention, for gods sake get rid of the two piece ball!!!!!!!!!!!! we should all be playing with
4 piece!! why and how can you teach anyone in the lower grades how to bowl is beyond me!!
The comp has plenty in the bank, they can subsides the price difference if Kookaburra doesn't come to the party!!

Couldn't have said it better myself, We were forced to try and field 3 teams and start a junior program on the threat of being demoted after winning the flag. We just dont have the depth of players as proven when Scotty Toull did his calf in the 3rd over against Rosebank, we have no one to replace him with and have fallen away because of it, in the old structure our seconds are closer to a Fouth or Fifth grade side. Too many inexperienced, young or old players in that lineup. All we want to do now is save relegation, which I think we can do if we get our best X1 on the park more often than not. What the league fails to comprehend is that they are killing off some of the smaller clubs by forcing these new rules. Sides like Fairfield, Dennis, Reservoir Mayston cant attract the type of players to their clubs in C Grade they need to move up the grades as it stands, but these new rules are putting nails in their coffins by making it harder as they will not only have to attract more players and field thirds but start junior programs in areas that dont have many kids. I know because I have busted my arse to get kids this year and have managed about 14 in total for Milo and U11s, very hard to start from scratch in this day and age and in our community. So Well said Scoreboardend, I agree 100%.

Punchy doesn't play favourites and is a very astute cricketer, what he also wont do is cop shit from blokes who dont put in. And I hear there is a few down KP way that dont put in. If they dont want him hes welcome back at the Coltery any day of the week.

Well said Scoreboard. The trouble with this comp is they hatch ideas without understanding the final outcome. We'd all love strong junior programs but that easier said than done. As for roping sullivan, I've never heard anything more stupid.Lets do everything we can to promote cricket not give people a reason to walk away.

Okay, if the board have got blinkers on and the answer is an almighty yes. This is the most perilous
period in the comps history, multiple outrights in "A" grade, teams being bowled out for under 40!!
a reserve grade that is 5th standard cricket I really think enough is enough. Instead of all these fancy ideas of junior programs and having
three teams to play "A" grade, why don't we all get together and set up the comp the way it used to be?? If you were good enough to play
in a high grade you did. I know Bill, you might actually have to do some work and restructure and regrade teams, but what we are
doing now is not working. we have heaps in the bank how about giving clubs incentives to merge?? There is no if's and's or buts about the structure,
it's not working! When you have "D" grade teams that should be playing 2nd eleven cricket it makes a mockery of the comp, or continue to do what you are doing and the comp will be dead in 5 years. Crooksy, it's on you mate. You need to get a few smart heads around you that are not on the board and reset.
You're smart enough and capable enough if you want. I only hope we haven't underestimated you and your only really interested in hearing your own voice on the Cobra's cricket show?? The Comp is in crisis and it needs to be fixed immediately, enough with the political correctness that gets pushed by tree hugging councils.
As a comp we give the community a service that we don't get paid for, apart from some people on the board, and for this the councils should be thankfull
we keep kids off the street and blokes out of pubs and TAB'S. Being the a comps president what occurred at Sullivan Reserve with the
cones is reprehensible, it should never of happened and you as the President should of put a stop to it, Kudos to Keon Park for making the opposition look
ridiculous as the cones were put there for the sole purpose of helping one team and not the other. Seriously outrageous that you let this happen. If you were a fair and transparent board heads would roll. Let's fix the top end of the comp first and the rest will follow. How about taking 5k off Bill and giving to someone to go around schools and push the nearest cricket club onto them?? you know "proactive advertising". We are going nowhere fast and I can see players leaving the comp for greener pastures. "Once a mighty cricket comp gone"! have a real good think about that.

Lot of drama over the cones being moved, really a non issue, same for both sides, it's not like a game hasnt been moved grounds due to damge at short notice before, are we supposed to replicate the damaged grounds boundaries then?

biggest issue i see from looking at the scorecards..a team got bowled out for 33 in A grade and batted 3 players short. How does this happen?

Agree with the idea of abolishing reserve grades, it works for strong clubs and punishes those who have to work hardest to survive.

I would like to know how bad C grade is. Cobra's couldn't beat themselves in a practice match last season and now no one can get near them.
Surely the opening bat that deserted them in there hour of need must be regretting his decision. Then again anyone that leaves their team after it has been relegated is weak as piss anyway.

What is going on down at Preston YCW? 8 players rock up in the ones on the second day and the 2s give a forfeit?? Interesting times. My mail is that the captain Doesn't have many fans either.

Rivergum looking strong with an evenly balanced side.

Keon park and rosebank fighting it out for 2nd and lalor 10 points clear of 5th.

The rest can write there own ticket.

C grade is horrible. And cobras are horrible. It must be a huge gap if yet are dominating like they are and Preston footballers are there main challenger.

Spot on Goddard. Ycw should be playing in quick shield. The only reason the captain is playing is $$$$$$. Only 3 teams can challenge in Jika shield. The rest of the teams are in a massive amount of trouble if you look at the weekends results.

harry, we are not talking about a ground that has been damaged! If you don't see what I'm saying,
interpret what I say which ever way you want, funny though you understood and agreed with the rest of my post.
You see what comes out, "8 players in an "A" grade team and the seconds forfeit", now the board should be down there at
200 miles an hour and see wtf is going on. Not up to it, bring up a strong "B" grade club be proactive don't wait until it's too late.
Don't worry about what anybody says, fix the problem, junior programs are really helping PYCW! Reinvigorate the senior side of the comp.
For Gods sake fix the problems or spill the board, and get people who'll make the hard calls to get things right.

I do see what you're saying, just dont see it as a big deal, its a non issue....rule makers make decisions, whingers dont like them

So what is happening with YCW? anyone know the reason for the weekends player shortfall...went from 22 to 8 halway through a match?

"rule makers make decision" okay harry, whatever you think is right.
I can categorically state that most of the " rule makers" as you call them, were against what went on.
Lets worry about getting the comp in a healthy state which in which it's not in at the moment.

Okay I've heard enough, you love the sound of your own voice. If you think that what you have done is "fair and reasonable" it's not.
This is not a matter of opinion it's fact, your mishandling of this situation is a farce. In the history of NMCA Cricket when has a ground with a fence
ever been coned off?? The fence was coned off squarely to favour one team, fact!! You have no grounds to start this sort of rubbish half way thru a season.
You have not been fair and reasonable to other clubs, you haven't put this to all the other member clubs for their opinion. In typical GM methodology a unilateral decision has been made. This is just not good enough, as a leader you haven't done enough and should step down and let someone who has some clout run the competition. "This is my opinion". The role of a general manager is to run the comp as the board requires and as the rules state, this is not
happening. I hate to tell you, you need the Prelim that the GM doesn't want and quite frankly nobody should give a damn what a GM wants as he is payed to run a completion that has rules and regulations in place, his opinion doesn't count he has the rule book he should be making sure that every member club is playing by those rules, this is what he gets paid for, FACT.
