Cricket coaching mats - opinions please

I just chuck a tee on top of a stump, does the trick nicely.

Cricket coaching mats - opinions please

To further add to the above, it is more the concept of coaching with a stationary ball than the may itself which is of value. However, you then have to understand how best to build the shot from there, so that players eventually face a moving ball.

Cricket coaching mats - opinions please

It depends on your point of view and how you coach. Foot movement is key and many younger players either have poor or non-existent footwork. These mats provide an easy way to demonstrate where the feet should go - pretty much everything is marked out. However, if you know what you're doing...

Cricket coaching mats - opinions please

They do a job but to be honest you can get the same result with nothing more than a batting tee, costing a few quid.

So, what do you think of the new BigCricket Forums?

I agree with you on the colouring and it will be changed. The fonts/font size is a little strange as well and I'll look into changing them.

    DVCA Barclay Shield 2010/11

I would guess the admin comment was a warning not to get carried away. Although you may be able to restrain yourself and understand where the line is, others on here are not always able to do so. As you say, it is useful to give out information and important to educate people. That has been...

So, what do you think of the new BigCricket Forums?

Care to expand on that? The more you tell us, the more we can change things. However, we won't be going back; vB is too bug filled at the moment. Colour is temporary at the moment. It will be changed at some point in the near future. Forum width is probably going to stay as it is, although...

So, what do you think of the new BigCricket Forums?

In terms of colour, style, layout, font? Something else? More info we have the more we can do to get things right once we add the final skins, themes and design to the site.

    Sidearm

In essence yes, in practice no. The whole thing is bigger, more robust and comfortable to use. The plastic is a lot thicker, with less give in it, meaning you can propel cricket balls at a good rate. I had my doubts but after using it a fair bit, I'm impressed.

So, what do you think of the new BigCricket Forums?

There have been some bugs noted with age and gender - will be ironed out over the next few days, hopefully!

    Wrist Spin Bowling (Part Four)

It'll become second nature soon enough. The new software is only what vB should have been when they released version 4. Pretty much everything is the same, just tidied up and streamlined.

So, what do you think of the new BigCricket Forums?

I've noticed that as well and I'm on. The back end is pretty similar but certain things are different, hence taking a bit of time to find things.

So, what do you think of the new BigCricket Forums?

Everything is on default at the moment. Plan is to skin the home page and then sort out the forum. A few things will be trial and error though.

    What's new?

Although the vast majority of features are similar to the old vB site, there are a few new or changed items. I'll do my best to list them here and explain if needed. First up, Trophies and to be honest I'm not 100% sure how to explain. In a way they replace the old user names that we had...

    New Site Software etc

As you can see we have new software. I'm sure some of you will be happy, others pissed off and the majority couldn't give a toss. However, if you have problems, feedback, want to rant or whatever visit...

You're going to have bear with us a little as we get things in order. New software, new things to learn. Big upside is that we have wordpress for the blog.

So, what do you think of the new BigCricket Forums?

Fonts and such I'll look into once I get my full admin powers back. As for the other forums, yes, I agree with in some ways but the truth of the matter is that no-one actually posts in those areas. I'd rather have them cluttered but 'busy' than separated and dead. It will be reviewed on a...
