North A And B

any news on the protest ??????????????????

I hope they throw the book at Brodie and Taylors Lakes. They go and spend a fortune trying to buy a premiership poaching players from smaller clubs with big money. Brodie walked out on East Keilor and hasn't made a run since. Hopefully the vtca throw him and the club out of the finals to send a message to other clubs that you can't go out and just buy a flag. Maybe they should spend some money on a decent curator instead of old overweight has beens.

Cant be preparing a different pitch week 2. If VTCA doesnt act, all clubs will be doing it week 2 to suit their requirements.

The temp in Laverton never got above 36.3 on saturday, so if you look at the group of clubs who have to go by the Lavo weather you'll find a few sunshine clubs amongst them. I was at Newport and they go by Melb temperature so they got called off.

I just think its bizarre that you can play in west division and not all clubs are in the same group for the heat policy

I still can't believe you guys have a heat rule. Cricket is a summer sport for god's sake.

You have obviously never played when its "HOT". We have had players in the past colapse and pass away during 40 plus degree days. Ignorance of our heat is clearly evident. We dont have an Ozone layer down here. Industrialised London saw to that.

Hi there Ljp86, Any chance you can tell us all which competition in Perth you play in so I can pull up the league website and see if they have a heat rule policy.
Appreciate your prompt assistance. They may have some issues that may assist us in the eastern states.

What an ignorant and ill-timed comment - would you like to wait until a fatality until you re-assess that opinion?

Of course not. A fatality would be a tragic occurrence.

I live in Perth, it's far hotter here than it is in Melbourne. Our first game of the new year it was 43/44 degrees and all games still went ahead. I've also played on many other days where the temperature has gone past 40. Illness and deaths from heat is obviously very tragic and regrettable so you won't get an argument from me there. But cricket is still played in summer and Australia is a hot country during that time. You have to expect at least a couple of hot days per year.

The association I play in has no heat rule. We play no matter how hot it gets. We do however take precautions including relaxing rules for over requirements and timing rules. We also take extra and longer drinks breaks, extend other breaks and make sure all players and umpires are adequately hydrated throughout the duration of any match where temperatures are extreme.

No points yet. Still waiting vtca. But from what I hear should be a formality seddon get the points or we might see a few clubs prepare new decks week 2 of games.

It stands to reason. If you are playing away might be worth getting someone to the ground on the Friday of week 2 to 'check' on things....

If we have to wait much longer for these decisions to be finalised finals might take place in May
