English cricket club Wirral CC has been bowled out for just three runs after playing a Cheshire League division three match against Haslington. Haslington were earlier bowled out for just 108 but the real story of the day happened after the tea interval. Amazingly there was only one run off the bat, scored by the number 11 Connor Hodson with the remaining two runs courtesy of some leg byes.

Wirral faced the real prospect of being bowled out for zero after falling to 8/0 before the tail "wagged" and managed to save face and boost the score to a whopping three all out.

Can't say I've ever seen a score as low as that. There was one game in the association I play in where a team was bowled out for four but that side only batted with nine players and they were two players short. But three all out with eleven batters is something I've never even seen before.

S SLA , someblokecalleddave someblokecalleddave I imagine this has got a fair bit of news time in England?

If this is a score from today, they all probably did it on purpose in order to get home for the Liverpool V Chelsea match!!! I'll look at the link you've posted...

Gutted and it's before the football match happened! Who was bowling for Haslington Warney?

Must have brought spin on very early then! Some guy called Istead took 6/1 and the other opener Gledenhill took 4/0. I reckon they might be up for a promotion this week!

Seen this every where today, every one on the planet is talking about it! It's in every single newspaper that I've seen.

Did this actually happen? Some of those blokes could get a run in Thommo Utd lower grade teams.

Yes it did. Part of the scoresheet for the side is in the article.

The club also tweeted about the result several times through its official Twitter account.

Big place like Wirral, you'd think it would be a decent standard, obviously not. I see most of the wickets were bowled. Smacks of the absolute lowest level of amateur cricket. Two blokes who can bowl full and straight and no-one in the oppo who can put a bat on them. Perhaps all the regular players were watching the football?

Yes I remember reading about this few days back... wonder what went wrong... and I guess that number 11 had a boss day, since he made more then all other added together :D
