2016/2017 Barclay Shield

With that attack tongs sure they should pick another bat...

Let's wait and see how they go chasing something half decent if they bat last.

I'll probably end up with egg on my face but I'd be getting another genuine batsman in and picking up the few overs a couple of them bowl elsewhere.

If Macleod bat first I think they'll win!

Big night tonight at the selection table for riverside. Austin must be nervous about telling Rosebrook or Villani they'll be missing out.

Can argue a claim for changes to be made, but got the wrong guy.
Andrew villani has taken 24 wickets this year how is his spot evenly slightly in danger?

I personally also think their bowling attack is much more dangerous with him opening instead of austin, then Austin to follow from his end. He's tricky to negotiate with a new nut.

Elliot has been one of the best over a long period of time, eye sight is leaving him reaching for the ball and should be the one to make room but it's his final game and I think keep him in and let him have a red hot go .

Agreed vinnie.

I'll take your tip as riverside tongs.
Siders unchanged, right call IMO. Macleod not up yet but don't expect any surprises there. Side batting first has the game to lose, unless they get bundled out in >60 overs we have seen how hard it is to chase in any game let alone the big dance. Moving away from any logical thinking I for some reason feel like riverside are going to win this game regardless of toss. Macleod have plenty of game winners but rarely see them prevail with out one of the Wises having a day out, which, happens quite often but cant help but feel the clappers have some almost untapped star power al the way thru their XI. I expect one of them to come up trumps.

There are far too many good players in the one side, and all seem to be playing as one. The experience and cricket smarts in that side is incredible, and I see them doing enough to get the chocolates. They won't let it get as close as the semi, but I see Riverside getting the job done in a close one. (WInning by 30 runs, or 7/8 wickets down)

They shouldn't be too happy yet they were set a similar total last year and we all know what happened, runs on the board in a grand final cant be ignored
They would be pretty happy now. Great hard-fought win.

Lot of money spent by Riverside to keep good players down and ensure lower grade finals wins. Can't get the job done when it matters though.

It's amazing that in the end Timmy wise taking that fateful runout at Bundoora resulting in a draw has consequently won him a grand final . Other clubs will say it's wrong but he's delivered the flag . Win at all costs I say
