[Rant] Cricket not a sport
Sigh, getting fed up of people telling me that cricket isn't a spot and requires no effort. . . (Field for an hour at slip and not have a chance, then have ot keep concentration for the next hour still)
Its such a mentally draining game, plus there is a lot of...
Re: Wrist Spin Bowling (Part Three)
Good to hear you did well and had a good time :)
I had a chat with some of the guys down at the match yesterday, they are friendly and encouraging, but mostly agreed I should be playing 3rds intead of 2nds were it not for my fielding ...
darned double edged...
Re: Wrist Spin Bowling (Part Three)
To quote philpott :
Confidence / concentration sound like the reason you weren't happy with the bowling. Maybe you should see if you can get a few decent net sessions in bowling against other bowlers (or not so good batsmen) to improve your confidence...
Re: Wrist Spin Bowling (Part Three)
0 overs bowled
0 balls faced (in at 11 and other batsman(#6) bowled next ball)
Man of the match awarded to me
Fielding genius apparently to be known as "The Wall" when fielding at short extra cover
Re: Wrist Spin Bowling (Part Three)
Hah , i'm still a young one in terms of leg spin development. I have leg break, a bigger leg break ( but far less accurate) and a top spinner that is somewhat variable (i struggle for length on it, hvae had people charge down wicket and pull them before :( )
Re: Wrist Spin Bowling (Part Three)

Phillpott book arrived today on recommendation from forum
Quick read through first couple of chapters during lunch break looks interesting.

Re: Wrist Spin Bowling (Part Three)

Re: Wrist Spin Bowling (Part Three)
I do see where your coming from, and in part you sound like my old housemate.
I am one of those "chunky blokes in the field" however I have over the last 4-5 years developed myself into a rather specialist fielder. Through playing goalie in 5/side football...
Re: Lower Back Pain
Hmm
I did fall down my mates stairs last monday, so maybe that could be a cause.
I usually sit at my computer desk and "click" it into some music software
Nah its only a modified crawl (very little legs in it , only for buoyancy)
not for a week or so, video camera is...
Re: Lower Back Pain
I am fine with lifting, have always bent my knees and carried stuff properly. Am currently working at john lewis and most stuff comes in cages so its literally just hanging stuff up and the like.
Also I would have thought it would have hurt whilst working again since...
Re: Tips on what to do when waiting to bat
It depends for me.
I just sit around chatting and forget about everything else.
Then when I go out and I'm telling myself, move your feet, watch the ball, etc
If i'm there to stop the fall of wickets i'm thinking, get bat on it, watch the ball...
Lower Back Pain

Basically, I had nets last thursday and since sleeping after net session I have had a wierd kind of pain in my back, Its almost crippling at times, and then other times I wont notice It.
