ok, its what- 3 months away? who's up for it, does anyone care? is anyone going? is the 07 fixtures too crowded with the end of the ashes blowout, the ODI WC, and now this?

i am actually looking forward to it. sure its not what i envisioned of having a bunch of the emerging nations playing and getting a chance to shock the top teams but its a start.

who has an opinion of more that "yep, can't wait" or "its crap!".

have any suggestions to change it or what would make it better? One possible idea i had was why not have 16 teams.
-each teams plays a different team like a single elimination bracket. instead of single elimination, they play a best of three series. if you sweep the opposing team, you get an extra day off. The event could be completed in less than 3 weeks and each match would have meaning to it.

ok, who else has thoughts and ideas on the 20/20 WC?

Gonna be the same farcical format as the WC:
half the teams out in three games; meaningless matches;
plenty of no game days, etc., etc. Inviting a team of
Yank pro baseballers only way of infusing any excitement
into the thing.

it'll be excitement for you if the yank baseballers turn up: it means you'll have a team in the tournament to support. It'll just be another ordinary boring meaningless cricket game for the rest of us.

I'm looking forward to it, so long as they make it really exciting and fun - lots of music and stuff like that.

It's stupid, taking it too seriously, because it's not a serious form of the game. So why not have some fun?

Make it flamboyant, go all out I say, because it's all just smash and grab anyway.

Yeah, the church ladies, mamas boys, and 40-year-old virgins just can't stand
seeing cricket made exciting. Can't enjoy their naps which they do with
"serious" test and 50 over cricket. But fans worldwide want excitement and
20/20 at long last is unleashing the excitement the namby-pambys have always wanted
supressed. The course of history's against you. If you dont' like it
suggest you switch to golf where you can snooze all you want after
that bowl of tomato soap.

I wont be going, but i will be watching it on tv. Give it a go anyway i say. It can't be more of a shambles than the other one we just had.

Can it??????

Should be a bit of fun.

Don't have Foxtel at the moment though so I doubt I will see most of it.

It's going to be interesting to see how many teams can make the change from batting 50 overs to batting 20. Should be a bit of excitement in the game with the big hittings slogging away. I'm looking forward to it.
