2nd Test: Australia vs. India in Sydney

Re: 2nd Test: Australia vs. India in Sydney

Australia declared at 7/401. Symonds made 61 and Hussey remained 145 not out when Ricky Ponting closed the innings. Kumble took 4/148 for the Indians.

That set India a target of 333, they lost Jaffer in the two overs before lunch for a duck and since then they've lost Laxman, Tendulkar who played on off Stuart Clark yet again, Dravid to a shocking decision, Ganguly, Yuvraj also for a duck and just then Dhoni who was LBW to Symonds not playing a shot.

India are 7/194, there's less than nine overs to go so they won't win. Australia are also running out of time too, to get those last three wickets. Symonds has been the most effective bowler with 3/44.

A thrilling end to a great test match.

Clarke gets rid of Harbhajan for seven.

8/210 with 11 balls remaining.

Also, Harbhajan is on report for using racist remarks against Andrew Symonds. The hearing will be held at the end of the test.

Harbhajan charged

Sunday hearing for Harbhajan

RP Singh is the new batsman.

Re: 2nd Test: Australia vs. India in Sydney

RP Singh gone first ball!!!! Clarke strikes again, trapping Singh LBW, hawkeye says the ball was hitting the bails above the middle stump.

Ishant Sharma to face with Clarke on a hat-trick. There's 10 balls to go.

Tense game!!!

Re: 2nd Test: Australia vs. India in Sydney

What a finish!!!!!!!!! Sharma blocks the first two and then edges Clarke's fifth delivery to Hussey at first slip and he's out for a duck with Australia winning the game with only seven balls remaining.

What a classic finish, with Clarke winning the game for Australia with his left orm orthodox spinners. He ends up with figures of 3/5 off 1.5 overs and his bowling average drops to an astonshing 15.54!!!

Kumble meanwhile is devastated, he watched those three wickets unfurl from the non-strikers end after he had worked so hard to try and save the game. He finishes on 45 not out.

Andrew Symonds is Man of the Match for his heroics in this game. 162 not out in the first innings, 61 in the second and then three wickets in India's second dig saw secured the award for best player for the match.

So, Australia win a classic test by 122 runs. Hard to believe after they were 6/134 on the first day. The win also means they secure the Border/Gavaskar trophy as Australia only have to draw the series to be retain the trophy. Australia also win their 16th test in a row, meaning they equal the record they hold which was achieved by Steve Waugh's side from 1999/00 to 2000/01. If they win the next test match, they will create a new world record for the most test matches won in succession.

The third test will be in my home town, Perth and that game starts on January 16. Join us then!!

Gota feel for young Sharma, just because all the indian top order batsman failed to score any real runs it was all down to him yo blcok out the last 3 balls of the over, i feel that if he had of survived that they would have drawn the test match.

Re: 2nd Test: Australia vs. India in Sydney

Super win but definitely put down by the poor umpiring decisions. Get rid of steve bucknore (morgan freeman).

Re: 2nd Test: Australia vs. India in Sydney

What a win by Australia, unbelievable stuff. 16 in a row!! Gosh, all those players in the 1st part of the streak who said it wouldn't be broken for a very long time and some said never would! Australia retain the Border-Gavaskar trophy. Well done Australia. Considering the old record was 11 by the then mighty West Indians, we have absolutely smashed that record. Wow!

Re: 2nd Test: Australia vs. India in Sydney

Great win by Australia and once again when it got tough India chocked :D Yes, India copped some woeful decisions but the way they are crying and bitching is a disgrace and highlights why they will never do any good when the going gets tough in the big important matches.

Both sides have played so far in ordinary spirit though, hopefully this changes for the remainder of the series. Bucknor and Benson should be replace straight away, terrible performance|@

Re: 2nd Test: Australia vs. India in Sydney

well Bucknor will be in Perth with Asad Rauf, so we have to put up with him for a little long.
