Mine is:

Opening Batsmen: Mathew Hayden - his hook shots were menacing. Great driver of the ball as well.
Middle Order Batsmen: Brian Lara - the rare combination of flare and patience!
All-Rounder: Jacques Kalllis - the perfect all round cricketer!
Wicket-Keeper: Brendon McCullum - awesome to watch both batting and keeping and even fielding.
Finisher: Lance Kluesner was great to watch and was one of the first of his kind.
Fast Bowler: Shane Bond - fast with great control of swing and a deadly yorker.
Spin Bowler: Shane Warne - leg spinning legend!

Overall favourite: I think it's too hard to say but I'm going with Brian Lara haha.

Kaluwitharana? Must be a bit before my time haha. I'm guessing he's Sri Lankan but could you tell me a bit about him?

I really liked watching Hussy and Hogg play, plus Vettori of course haha. Dan the man should be playing tonight. :)

Sri Lankan keeper/opening batsman that with his partner Jayasuria that probably changed the face of batting in one day cricket by electing to attack by go over the top in the first 15 overs. Seen him play live once, first game of cricket I ever went to as a kid. F*** it was hot that day at the WACA, pretty funny to see such a shortass batting against Curtley Ambrose.

Ian Botham seems popular. How did Gordon Greenidge play? Was he more classical or aggressive like Sir Viv?

He was amazing as an opener. More classic in technique but just as destructive when the mood took him. I remember the 91 tour to the WI, Australia controlled the ODI's 5 nil and drawn the test in Jamaica and Port of Spain and were 1 nil down heading to bridgetown. A mad first innings from both teams then in the second Greenidge took us apart for 200+ and from there the series was all the WI. It was the last time i remember them being the great WI of old.

So a bit Lara-ish then? haha. A mix of aggression, good technique and patience?
