Chappeli exposed

Investigative report shows Chappel was total crap as India's coach: "Greg wanted
to show everybody he is the boss...he was not talking to senior players
for 4-5 days...adopted a 'divide and rule' policy..could not understand
Indian cricketer psyche. He was more like a schoolmaster than a friend."

Best bet for Indies: bring in a Yank baseball coach. What they
don't know about cricket at least they'll make up in professional
management abilities. No more ex-cricket stars who have absolutely no
people skills.

Re: Chappeli exposed

Shows how much you know about the Chappell trio.

"Chappelli" was the nickname for Ian, not Greg.

Re: Chappeli exposed

timmy, take you're baseball loving posts away from the forum.
forever please

Re: Chappeli exposed

Oh, how all those people in India are eagerly waiting with open arms for Oral Hershiser, Tommy Lasorda, Pete Rose, Lou Piniella and Dusty Baker to invade their shores, claim the Indian soil and show them the way to Shangri-La!!! The promised land, The Final Frontier, turning water into wine, yessir!!!! I can already feel it!!!!!

NOT.

OK, but talking seriously. What is needed in India are swift kicks on the Bollywood arses of spoilt brats that are called cricket players. That includes complete rescinding of their corporate sponsorship deals. And a complete overhaul of mentality, something that is strongly centered around fitness. And a totally new philosophy where players can't get into a team purely based on batting or bowling alone, but must be solid fielders (gee, what a concept, Munaf Patel!!). And a complete overhaul of BCCI where the people in charge are real cricket people, not corrupt politicians or lawyers like Sharad Pawar, Dalmiya etc.

I wouldn't mind a very open minded approach where fitness trainers from other parts of the world from other sports are recruited. It doesn't matter whether they're cricket, baseball, soccer or basketball people, as long as importance of fitness is stressed. And so on and so on....

But of course, I know none of this is going to happen. It will be business as usual at BCCI . And the Indian public will get to enjoy yet another Tendulkar advertisement on Zee Sports channel every weekend morning selling Cadbury or Amul Butter.

...and importance of fielding, leadership, cooperation, work ethic,
self-motivation, etc., etc. Does BCCI have MLB's phone number?

Re: Chappeli exposed

WTF? A Yank baseballer as head coach? I don't think so. Perhaps recruiting an ex-baseballer for a fielding coach like the Aussies did would be a good idea. The Indian team have been horrible fielders ever since I can remember - they need all the help they can get.

Quite right. Indies should bring in the coach of the Yank national swim
team. Anyone who put together a team that set TWELVE world records
in one event's gotta be doing something right. In any case, ANYONE would be
better than that walking disaster Chappeli.
