Commonwealth Bank Series Game 8 - India va Sri Lanka at Adelaide Oval

After looking forward to watching this game on TV, I have just found out that Channel 9 won't be telecasting on free-to-air TV and they've decided to telecast the game through Fox.

All I can say about this is a big "******** you" to Channel 9 you greedy, capitalist ratings indulging douchebags.

Indian XI: Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Robin Uthappa, Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma, *+Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Irfan Pathan, Praveen Kumar, Harbhajan Singh, Ishant Sharma, Munaf Patel

Sri Lanka XI: Tillekeratne Dilshan, Sanath Jayasuriya, +Kumar Sangakkara, *Mehela Jayawardene, Chamara Silva, Chamara Kapugedera, Farveez Maharoof, Chaminda Vaas, Lasith Malinga, Ishara Amerasinghe, Muttiah Muralitharan

Anyway, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat. Their start was a shocker, losing Tillekeratne Dilshan for four and Jayasuriya was run out for a duck. This left them 2/6 in the 3rd over.

They've recovered since then but have done so quite slowly and have made it to 2/105 in the 29th over. Kumar Sangakkaraached 50 while the captain, Mehela Jayawardene is on 48. This pitch is obviously very similar to Sunday's game and a score of around 220 could prove tough to chase. Very, very unlike the Adelaide Oval road which usually gives up 300+ each game.

Munaf Patel has bowled well, and has 1/21 off seven overs which includes two maidens. He also has the run out of Jayasuriya.

Incredibly disappointing that this game isn't on free-to-air TV. |@

Having looked at my tv guide from getting my local newspaper yesterday, it appeared very odd that there was a 5-day gap between matches. It was only today when I found that 9 weren't showing this match. Disgraceful stuff 9, I put up my middle fingers on both hands at you, the thumbs down here is only me being polite|@ .

Anyway, looking at cricinfo.com.au for live scores, the consistent Sangakkara and the Sri Lankan captain are re-building their innings well, 139/2 after 35 overs. Sangakkara has been really patient in compiling 63 off 113 balls, while Jayawardene has been a bit quicker, 66 off 92. With ball dominating bat this series (and that's rare these days), they're on their way to compiling a competitive total.

India struggling at 3 for 47 in reply to SL's 238.

Tendulkar was bowled by Malinga for a duck.

And yes, disappointing this game in not at least in part on FTA.

Singh out for 76, big wicket.

80 of 96 required for India so run rate should be managable though at 5 down a couple more wickets for the Lankans will make make things difficult.

Earlier, A fine century from Kumar Sangakkara saw Sri Lanka reach 6/238 off their 50 overs. He was out on the final ball of the 49th over for 128, Mehela Jayawardene supported Sangakkara well with 71. Chamara Silva was the only other batter above 20 with 21.

Patel, Pathan and Harbhajan Singh were the wicket-takers for India with one each. There were three run outs in the Sri Lankan innings, Patel got the early one with Kumar and Rohit Sharma getting the final two.

In reply, India are 5/176, they need 63 to win off 13 overs. India were in trouble early due to the quick dismissals of Tendulkar, Gambhir and Uthappa but Yuvraj Singh got them back on track with a well made 76.

Vaas, Malinga, Amerasinghe and Muralitharan have the wickets with one each while Jayasuriya effected the run out of Robin Uthappa.

Game still in the balance here, Sri Lanka need some wickets as Dhoni and Pathan could take the game away from them pretty quickly.

India are 5/182 after 38 overs. Unless Pathan and Dhoni can get another 40-60 or so runs, the advantage must be in Sri Lanka's favour.

Sri Lanka strike!!! India were getting away but a couple of good overs has lead to Pathan swinging across the line, trying to work Amerasinghe to the boundary but he misses and the ball knocks back his off stump.

6/216 after 45.3 overs. India needs 23 runs off 27 balls, Kumar is the new batsman with Dhoni on 42.

Kumar is gone, Jayawardene moves himself to slip and two balls later, Kumar top edges Amerasinghe straight to him!!

Harbhajan is the new batsman, the first ball is a dot before inside edgeing the next ball for three.

7/232 after 48 overs. India only need seven off 12 here, they should get home.

Oh boy!! Another wicket!! Harbhajan retains the strike, a huge appeal for LBW but was turned down. The second ball was a poor one, down the leg side and went for four leg byes off Harbhajan's shoe.

Ball Three was almost yorker length with Harbhajan just defending but is out on the fourth ball with Malinga getting his inswinger going nicely and Harbhajan is trapped in front, the ball would have hit middle stump.

8/236, India needs three off eight balls. Ishant Sharma is the new batsman.

End of the over, 8/236, Dhoni on strike with three needed off the final over.

Oh dear. Maharoof to bowl the last over, he starts with a wide which went under Dhoni's bat!!!

The next ball is pushed for two by Dhoni through covers, that's his 50 and India win the game by two wickets.
