If anyone was wondering the scores in the big game

Eltham College won the toss and batted. Were bowled out for 156 and St.Francis 1/0 at stumps.

Should be a good chase next week!
Your right specialist should be a good chase next week. We were dissapointed considering 5 of us made between 15 and 23 (starts) But I would say par score on that ground today, was extremely big and slow so next week should be a cracker!!

I would like to get everyones thoughts so far on who would be playing in the Money Shield rep team at the moment. my team would be (in batting order):

1. A.Mann
2. J.Berthet
3. L.Kennell
4. T.Hand
5. C.Zealley
6. B.Lewis
7. M.George
8. R.McKeown (WK)
9. S.Bray
10. A.Caithness
11. C.Paine

Others that could slot in would be W.Wunhym, G.Duggin, L.Stewart, B.Gutterson.

Thoughts??
\

that team is pretty handy having a look at the player's that you could'nt fit in, Gutto for Bray, Duggin for Lewis.

did you get many in the big game concussion, and how did the boy's from the franks behave?

Noone was more disappointed than I was one shot dont worry!!!

Probably give my idenitity away here to the guys who played in the game but ball came through slower than I thought and caught a dirty leading edge that bobbled up to Jimmy Flynn. Funnily enough he was the bloke who was supposed to bowl the over but was unable to due to a bit of sand in his run up that made his legs not work.

Nah not really one shot, I was one of the blokes that made 15-25 and went out to to Brett Lewis. The franks boys I'd have to say were the most professional team ive played this year before the game and were very focused. No real sledging which I was a bit surprised.

But will be a real good game of cricket next week.

Did Del Mastro ring you so you both could slip into your leather bike shorts and head down to the The Blue Oyster Bar where all of the Franks players hang out.

I heard that College totally embarrassed themselves in the top of the table clash. Bored their toothless spectators to sleep with the bat and then carried on a treat when they got a wicket at the end of the day. Start praying for rain now because it's going to be a long day in the field next week.

I think we will all find out who you are just by looking for a guy in a trenchcoat and realy hairy palms.

No that wasn't me on the hill knackers. I'm thinking it was more likely a Franks Life Member or could've quite easily have been the bloke that you and Del Mastro shared after your trip to The Blue Oyster Bar.
Besides no buby chubby happening when Lewis and Duggin's rather obese frames do the majority of the bowling and the rest of the Franks blokes sit back again and wait for the new recruits to win them another game.

College didnt embarrass themselves, franks bowled very good lines all day and the cones were out a fair way.

160 on the college is 220 - 250 on any other ground in the comp.

Game was played in fairly good spirits and it was good that about 7 of the franks blokes stayed back after the game and had a few beers

Didnt carry on when got wicket we were very happy to get a wicket in the last over of the day champ.

Were you at the game teapicker? How did you know what happened when the college got the wicket?:confused:

what happened picker to all the talk of US the college, the college into barclay, you winning the medal, have you had a better offer from another club? as i have said all along, your a little on the tubby side, wear long white socks with sandles, live at home with your mum, 40 years old and play golf , as you would'nt have the upper body strength to play cricket.

like nudie, curious know how you knew about the college reaction to the wicket, all that does is lead us to thinking your a frank, but not even with a team that has that highly intelligent Wegs bloke in it, would be stupid enough to write that rubbish.

The College will still go into Baclay, Lewis is now favourite for the medal because he's heard there's a lifetime of pies to be awarded with it this year and as for my
cricketing ability I've had a couple of bad weeks where I've copped some rough decisions but still managed 40's. But be afraid the Teapicker's shoulder is coming good and there's going to be froatcutters happening after Xmas even on our dead pitch.

Picker Out.

Fair to say nudie I reckon it was in between very happy and carried on a treat, there were a lot of excited blokes! (Not to mention the bloke who bowled it!!) ;) And yeah your right it was great to see the franks guys stick around smack a few jars and talk rubbish!! Thats what makes good cricket.

Does anyone involved in the game wish to comment on the performance of one James Flynn?? Would have to say didnt shape up to the hype placed on him during the off season, is a tall bloke so could see him getting wickets on the all weathers.

College boys good blokes off the pitch but that cant be said about their on field antics and also their supporters.. Was fairly dissapointing they had to resort to personal attacks in the one over we had to face, and the way their supporters carried on was a disgrace. There is nothing worse than a bunch of *******'s that arent good enough to be playing in the clubs 1's swearing non stop at the outgoing batsmen.

Im sure that what the college dished out in the last over was no different to what they recieved in the 79 before that. However I do agree that if the supporters were swearing at outgouing batsmen than that is not on.

That is College to a tee...Biggest bunch of ****ers to walk the earth enjoy it now boys because you have no hoping of winning it this season. The worst bunch of blokes for hanging around for a beer. But bag any team that doesnt spend a few hundred over there bar. What goes around comes around I hope you guys make the grand final and get smashed.

you don't mind getting a ribbing (personal insults are for the pee hearts, sledges about ability fair game) out on the ground, i have found over the one or two games that i have played that it's the dud's that get personal and over step the mark, club's need to keep an eye on their supporters and others players that might finish early, come back and watch the game as they are generally the cause of the problems.

most club's have people within it that over step the mark, it a quick way for the rest of the good blokes to have any respect for them and their clubs eroded.

hopefully oneday one of those people that over step the mark get a punch in the face and then they might learn.

Mate i didnt mention one word about blokes not hanging around for a beer, i dont care who does or doesn't each to their own. Although it is good to get opinions from other players in other teams as to who they have played and how they went.
If your reffering to College v Mill park at Findon, its hard to expect the other team to drive to the other side of the suburb to have one or two beers after finishing at 6 45.

All im saying is that its hard to expect the other team to drive back to your home rooms to have a beer. Maybe a better idea would be to have an esky with beer and ice in it at the ground, that way im sure plenty of guys would hang around for a beer. Maybe even the college f***ers.
