Eca 2012/13

New topic:
Of the great all rounders (I use great in context of the comp), which are batting all rounders and who are bowling all rounders and who are equal?
My list, which you can all add to is this:
Parsons - batting all rounder - but great at both
Tongue - bowling all rounder - obviously batting is very good
Grubich - batting all rounder - has taken a lot of wickets too
Hargraves - bowling all rounder - has made a lot of runs over many years
Swift - bowling all rounder - class bowler in his prime

Ones I wanted to include were Dineen, Ancher, Dean Day, Binney and Vance, but I didn't know if they classified as all rounders. I also don't think Swift is an all rounder any more because his batting is so poor, but put him in anyway.
Is GI stafford thereabouts? 182 runs at 36 and 12 wickets @ 14

Still tipping them, but my boy Taylor would want to get his shit together and realise that if he makes less than 10, his team is rubbish.

Top 2 sewn up, unbelievable fight for 3rd and 4th, especially with the games coming up. Mully v Haw in rd 11 is bigger than Ben Hur.

Sorry, my mistake. It will still be an awesome last round. Boronia now basically assured of enjoying the pleasures of one umpire next season. Big fight for the other position. ED currently there, but playing Marc and NB playing Boronia this week so lots hanging on those results. Only teams not really playing for anything any more are MA, GI and prob Skevs. Their loss to Boronia was huge for their season.

OK, so the final ladder, if teams I think will win, win, ends up like this:

MA
GI
Mully
Ashy
--------
Haw
Skevs
Marc
Deep
NB
Surrey
ED
Boronia

MA v Ashy Semi
GI v Mully Semi

Deepdene have a massive say in the structure of the 4, playing Haw and then Mully, they can shape the 4 and cause absolute heartache to a couple of teams. They've hit form at the right time and there will be some very nervous players at those clubs. Marc have a chance of taking 12 from the last 2 and cementing their place in the top flight next season.

Mully have been a surprise packet this year. Dean Day has led them well and the inclusion of Shaw for finals is big for their chances. Don't reckon either of the top 2 would relish playing them in a final. And Ashy can be a handful on their day.

Fair to say GI have a fair bit to prove. Top 2 the last 2 years and knocked out like Port Adelaide 2 years running. If Taylor can stay and performs well, they should be in a Final, but without him they look vulnerable.

I didn't think Mully would make it this last time last week, had ruled a line through them but fair win on the weekend. Who is Shaw ? Still don't think they have that much talent to be a force. For the record, I hope they lose on the last day in a heart breaker and finish 5th.

Marc mid table ? Think you may have taken a paintball to the head.

Slow day for me. Just had a good look at last weeks results. Sammy Sundries had a great game for Mulgrave against GI. Made an impessive 44 in a score of 188, almost top scored. If the scorers got this right it might he may have earnt a vote in the medal. Particularly impressive were the runs he accumulated behind the wicket. Sammy was always a consistent scorer in his junior days, but has failed to score many recently. With a little bit more effort on the weekend he could of made a half century.

Yeah I think well said Paintball. I was surprised with that result also, especially out on that tiny ground. It leaves the comp wide open and the race for 3,4 spot in the finals pretty much a 3 way dogfight with Mulgrave, Hawks and Ashy. Great stuff. I think StKevs are an outsider though.

few big games ahead, and looking like the weather will be great this weekend! runs on thr board seem to be valuable, especially when the pressure is on, not many are chasing down targets!!
