FIGJAMS to hold season review

Re: FIGJAMS to hold season review

SA FIGJAMS review:

Test performance:

Code:
 Played: 6 Won: 0 Tied: 0 Lost: 6 Drawn: 0 Win%: 0.0

Comment: The test season was terribly disappointing for the club this season, failing to win a match and being comprehensively beaten in several matches. The bowling line-up did not work and struggled for consistency and it was too often an individual performance not a team performance with the ball. With the bat there was a similar story with the team relying on individual brillance and not building enough partnerships to win matches. The line-up did not work and needs tweaking.

Individual player review:
Younginator: Played in all six matches and was inconsistent throughout the season, struggling to hold down the openers spot. Not sure whether he is suited to opening the batting in test matches, may be better suited at 4-6. Managed only 330 runs at an average of 27.5, not enough for an opener and a high score of just 58. His keeping was again clean and will again take the gloves next season.

w will_85 : Was co-captain this season and really stepped up in a difficult season. Opened the batting and looked good scoring 554 runs at 46.2 however only managed the one ton. Needs to go on and make big scores.

Bennycoff: Improved season in the test matches where he averaged 41.1 and scored a career best 162. Was far too inconsistent and the highs were often short lived. Needs to find consistency. Maybe a move down the order might do him some good.

eddie_vrv6: The ex captain struggled for consistency throughout the season averaging just 32.2 with the bat and went without a century. Is on shaky grounds and may not be offered another contract with the club.

Re: FIGJAMS to hold season review

I had a crap test season, no doubt about it ! Good decision to get this started benny.

Re: FIGJAMS to hold season review

Will we be doing a review of the 1 dayers also or just the tests? 4 players at a time by the looks of things?

Re: FIGJAMS to hold season review

I will keep the previews going when I have time.

Both forms of the game.

Re: FIGJAMS to hold season review

Copernicus: The new recruit to the club had an interesting season. Showed signs early and provided some class in the middle with a couple of 50's however fell away during the season and struggled to have any real influence on matches. An average of 24.8 is not good enough for such a class player, much work needed and may be traded.

G Guru: Another who showed signs during the season however wasn't able to go on with the early hard work. Averaged 27.5 which is not good enough for a man of his class. Hit three 50's however only scored a top score of 67. Needs to turn his starts into big hundreds if he is to hold down a top four position. Will be retained and offered a leadership position and hopefully hold down the number four position.

Hollywood: In a dark season he provided hope that there was light at the end of the tunnel with some stunning individual displays. Struggled a bit in the tests however still managed a 50 and a best of 4/71 to show that he has the talent needed to succeed at this level. May be used higher in the order as he is wasted at seven and eight.

SouthSwans: Found his way back to his beloved club during trade week however struggled to produce his old magic taking just five wickets in three matches at 64.4. He was disappointing with the ball however his leadership was a much added boost to the club. Needs a big season if he is to remain number one spinner at the club. Will be offered a leadership role.

j jimmy_c8: The former star quick bowler had an inconsistent season. Bowled some lovely spells where he was unplayable and bowled some shockers as well. His highlight was his 6/74 which proved he still has the talent however 19 wickets at 38.8 is not good enough for a player of his class. Will not be at the club next season and is seeking a trade. May be delisted if trade not found.

P Drive: Another recruit which showed a lot in the longer version of the game. Panda was the best bowler for the club this season taking 16 wickets including a best of 5/27. His average of 27.9 was extremely good for a team which were unsuccessful for the season. Announced his retirement from the game yesterday just when he was close to a leadership role, disappointing.

D Donk: Donk was the off spinning recruit for the club this season to replace SouthSwans and did a very good job and when SS came back he still outclassed SS. Took 18 wickets at 28.1 including a best of 4/83 and showed plenty in a difficult season for the club, will only get better.

Speedstar: One ripping spell where he captured 5/36 was his highlight, struggled throughout the season taking 8 wickets at 46.4 in three matches. Will be delisted.

B BigJeff: Just the one match and didn't do much to warrant another game. Will be delisted.

Bichelclass: Big name recruit had a shocker at the FIGJAMS, 3 wickets in 2 matches at 54.7 Has retired.

Re: FIGJAMS to hold season review

I will be around, i just won't play as others will be posting more which IMO deserve a spot.

Re: FIGJAMS to hold season review

Yeah, sorry I haven't been around much - things have been pretty busy lately. I have no qualms with being traded if you see fit to do that - my form has been up and down and i guess my mind hasn't been 100%. Need to improve a lot if I am going to offer much to other teams.

Re: FIGJAMS to hold season review

No worries Coper, we will look to keep you if you are posting.
