GCA/BPCA Best Bats - past, present and possible future guns

who are some of the best bats geelong has seen?

Re: GCA/BPCA Best Bats - past, present and possible future guns

Alf Clark. check out the stats, no more to say. John Hughes form Lara pretty good in his day. Gary Kelson, this bambury from lara sounds pretty good.

from his stats thus far, i'd say bambury sounds like a freak.

what about frank tripodi?
and no i'm not being bias, cause he was from guild before we merged with them. i never really saw him bat, but anyone who can make 200 in a country week 1 dayer must be a freak..

Re: GCA/BPCA Best Bats - past, present and possible future guns

I'm going back a fair way here but it begins and ends with Jack Sing:
10,251 runs @ 50.81 (record)
First batsman to 10,000 runs
Only batsman to average over 50 in GCA history (min 3,000 runs)
251 1st XI games
8-time premiership player
8-time GCA 1st XI batting average winner (record)
30 GCA 1st XI centuries (record)
944 runs @ 118.00 in 1948/49 season (record)
5 centuries in 1948/49 season (record)
Captain GCA Team of the Century
VCA 1st XI : Collingwood

Alf comes close as far as runs scored go but for shear weight of numbers, your answer lies above.

i have seen alf for the past 6 years and well... he is a fossil now.. yet still racks up runs and tons on his good day

and manages to smash my pies in the nets from time to time as well...
also they say gordon mckay is a legend at north as well... making 200 in a gca divi 1 grand final... dont really no too much about it.. maybe sumbody could clear it up a bit more
