Guess The Item 🤔

A structure that humans have used for many thousands of years.

One of those pre Colombian pyramids used for astronomy.

Headed in the right direction Craig, but not a Pyramid nor a star gazing thing.
This thing is more utilitarian.

A sundial?

If not, was anybody able to use/benefit from it and still is?

No, not a Sundial Thomas. It's typically much bigger than one.

It's used by many past and present and benefits all that use it.
As long as it's structurally sound it would continue to be used, sometimes for centuries.

Is large, made of stone with some iron. I am thinking a mountain. But how does that benefit mankind.

Another guess, a bridge

That's it Craig.
I was thinking of a Bridge, well done!
Some bridges are massive.🌁🌁🌁🌁🌁🌁
Your turn Craig.

I got a little confused at the start when you asked 'Animal, Vegetable or Mineral ? Being unfamiliar with the phrase I later found out "Mineral" is anything not Animal or Vegetable. ie metals are included in the the Mineral group.

When you posted that it was neither a phone (mineral) nor a donkey (animal) I surmised you meant a vegetable (maize) as it fitted all the clues. Maize made from a special wild grass has kept humans alive for probably thousands of years. Corn is a derivative of maize.
