Hot Spot Won't Be Used In Ashes Series

down hill all the way. they wonder why it gets harder to attract young people to the game when they are scared of technology.
 
Dumb move, I imagine cost cutting would have come into the decision though. This will only make using DRS more confusing during the series.
 
Australia's captain Michael Clarke has questioned the wisdom of the referral system for disputed verdicts, stating that its use is distorting the actions of the umpires as well as the players, and admitting he would prefer the DRS to be thrown out entirely if its consistency does not improve.

Clarke has also declared he does not wish to see Hot Spot return to the array of technological tools for third umpires until its reliability can be improved beyond the level seen during the previous Ashes series.

Clarke would say that wouldn't he. It is amazing how the DRS was never an issue when we were world beaters and everyone else were wingers. If you are playing well you will win no matter what the rules are. Clarke needs to concentrate on his poor leadership and forget the excuses.
