IPL Game 7 - Deccan Chargers vs Delhi Daredevils at R Ghandi Int. Stadium, Hyderabad

Game 7 of the IPL is between the Deccan Chargers and the Delhi Daredevils in the Chargers home city of Hyderabad.

The Chargers struggled in their first game on a pitch less than conducive for batting. They only managed 110 which proved to be a modest total but in the end it was never going to be enough against the Knight Riders who overtook their total with five wickets in hand. Despite the loss, the Chargers would have been pleased with their bowling efforts, particularly the performances by Chaminda Vaas and young Pragyan Ohja who both took two wickets.

The Daredevils though had a win in their first encounter thrashing a disappointing Rajasthan Royals outfit by nine wickets in game three. Both the bowlers and the batters were on fire with the Devils far too good for the Royals who looked out of touch. McGrath, Maharoof and Bhatia all bowled superbly combining to give up only 49 runs from the 12 overs they bowled between them. Gambhir and Dhawan easily accounted for the small total with the bat, using a little over 15 overs in the process to knock off the required runs.

This will be another good game tonight, the Devils looked great in their first game and will be looking to join the Knight Riders on two wins while the Chargers will want to win this game as it will be hard to come back from a win-loss record of 0-2. Looks to be a cracker.

Interesting, looking at the guide it starts @ 11.30 on WIN 45 minutes earlier than 10. Thought it would be the way round.

Well, another ordinary game in terms of a contest but boy are we seeing some individual performances in this tournament!!

The Deccan Chargers failed once again with the bat, only Rohit Sharma scored anything of significance, making 66 not out from 36 balls, if it weren't for Sharma's effort then the Chargers would have been really embarassed.

Mohammad Asif, Farveez Maharoof and Bhatia all took two wickets for the Daredevils to share the wicket-taking honours.

In reply, we saw yet another stunning batting innings, this time from Indian player, Virender Sehwag. Sehwag smashed a mesmerizing 94 not out off 41 balls, an innings that included 10 fours and 6 sixes. A truly brilliant knock, one which well and truly won the Daredevils the game. It lifted Delhi to 1/143 off just 13 overs, a run-rate of exactly 11 runs per over. Gautam Gambhir was the only wicket to fall, RP Singh enticing to him edge to Adam Gilchrist for 12. Dhawan was the other not out batsman on 25.

Another one-sided game in the IPL but once again, another fantastic single effort seemed to make the lopsided result fade away. Delhi are now 2 and 0, and they are the early pacesetters along with the Kolkata Knight Riders. Deccan however, are the opposite, 0 and 2 with some major batting problems, early wickets are hurting them and they aren't scoring enough runs. They'll need to change that quickly before the next game.

Man of the Match was Virender Sehwag for his magical 94 not out.
