It won't completely die out, but number of matches will dwindle down and some countries won't play many matches at all at home, Windies and India come to mind.

Yes, England and Australia seem to have their priorities straight.

Its not really a surprise, test cricket is just 100x more exciting and interesting than one day cricket so of course it gets the biggest crowds. People actually care who wins a test match.

The players don't really care about ODI rubbish, they just do it for the paycheck. Most of them would retire from it if they could.

The fans don't care who wins, its just a day out like going to watch gladiators or something.


Unfortunately, the administrators don't feel the same way. test cricket will be dead in ~20 years time, the golden goose cooked and its carcass picked clean.

Well if you talk about terrorism in Pakistan there is a huge operation by the army that is being done and its turning out pretty good. And ive been to Pakistan 5/6 times il still alive. And if a cricket match does take place in Pak there will obviously be a lot of security arrangments and i think it is safe to play in Pak.

I just think that terrorism is just as likely to happen in India these days.

Unfortunately only the negative image of Pak is shown and only the positive one of India. The only things people know about India are: Bollywood, Hindous, Tendulkar,Cricket,"different culture" little do they know about all the women being raped because of lack of toilets.

Calling West Indies' pull-out midway into the India tour a "monumental disaster", the BCCI has slapped a US$41.97m damages claim on the WICB. The BCCI also suspended bilateral relations with the WICB till the dispute was resolved, and threatened legal action if the West Indies board didn't respond within 15 days.

Scheduled to play five ODIs, a Twenty20 and three Tests, the West Indies players pulled out of the series after the fourth ODI in Dharamsala on October 17. They cited the failure of West Indies Players' Association (WIPA) and WICB to respond convincingly to their questions related to the memorandum of understanding and collective bargaining agreement signed by the two parties in September

It's an ambit claim by the BCCI to let the WICB know that thy really need to get their act together and that running cricket the way thy were was not feasible. This will hopefully force the WICB to radically reshape the way they do things. 41 million sounds a lot and the figure is probably genuine, but the Indians also know that in the long term they would lose far more than that if the West indies go under.

Interesting the ongoing problems between the board and the players association in WI cricket. The reaction from the Indians is the typical overconfident full of themselves for no good reason git response, especially when only a few years ago they wanted to spit it and walk on a tour when they were in the wrong.

WI cricket really needs someone to run it for them for a while. An administrator appointed by the ICC (or is it the BCCI) is needed to help them get it sorted. More important though is the need to work out how we are to make WI cricket and that of a few other countries financially successful so they are able to support their players properly.

The current ICC situation will more likely see WI back as an associate and world cricket reduced to a subcontinent betting farce with the ashes as a side distraction. Any hope of growing the game and bringing through a whole new group of countries is fading fast with the self indulgent and somewhat deluded Indians determined to destroy the game for self satisfaction.
