Re: MPCA (Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association)

Main Ridge website confirms that Ben Gage appointed Assistant Coach along with Club Legend Danny Rea. What sort of impact will this have at Tyabb Supa Yabbie.

Re: MPCA (Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association)

Thanks for the confirmation Rick on the appointments at Main Ridge.

Re: MPCA (Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association)

With pre-season about to start for most clubs. Is there any more new recruits joining their club for the up coming season?

Re: MPCA (Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association)

I know that Dromana have started training already but am not sure of any movements down there player wise.Wilks is going again from what I have been told. I also have it from a reliable source that there has been a bit of action happening down at Tyabb in the last couple of days.Rumours at the footy on the weekend suggested that Boneo will be losing a few players this year, with Maddock returning to Flinders and Peck not playing at all.League Medallist Scott Millar from Rosebud not playing either.

Re: MPCA (Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association)

Yeah not too sure mate. I haven't heard of any pick ups but I know Knackers has gone back too Mt Eliza.

Re: MPCA (Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association)

I have heard a rumour that Dave James has left Carrum to be assistant coach at Seford Tigers.

Apparently he wasn't re-appointed coach of Carrum so he left.

Re: MPCA (Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association)

At Mt Martha, we've been training for 4 or so weeks. We have Nicky Johnson back after his stint with Frankston and then Mornington.

Chris Holcombe hasn't been to one training session this season, we do think it's because he still has footy training with Mornington. Apparently we have had a crack at Wade Pelzer from Old Boys, but nothing happened.

Re: MPCA (Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association)

Flinders had a practice match against Neeran at the weekend. From all reports Simon Parrott was hitting the ball very sweetly. Beggsy also got amongst the runs as well. Didn't field a full strength side and were very competitive. Very good signs for the sharks this season.

Also heard a rumour that former all rounder Timmy Wilkinson has been sighted at training and might be playing this season. Very very good player and will strengthen the line up further. Can this be confirmed?

He won't be i wouldn't think. More than likely start in the 2nds and if makes runs then he can.

Re: MPCA (Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association)

I have just noticed that Flinders is playing Tyabb this week.

If the sides are roughly the same as last year then there would be a bundle of fitness out on the park with the likes of Choc and Brad Hodgins, just to name a couple.

Re: MPCA (Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association)

Anyone have an updated player transfers from the clubs?

Mounites picked up a few I hear, lost a couple. Will be interested to see if they can go one step further and not choke again.

Burdett, bit old, but surely will be an asset down there mentoring the young guns!

Frankston YCW will be a joke this year, should of self - relgated themselves and field a subbies 2nds side.

Field, Beggs & Symes have all played there in the past, Parrott was offered the assistant coach position if he came along. Just as strong if not stronger side they have had since the last season Flinders played of in a Grand Final.
